I particulary enjoyed the commentators remarking that they wanted to see the guys 'stand and trade' or 'throw bombs'. If you really want to see big men trade punches, may I suggest putting heavyweight boxers in the co-main event? Instead of two gassing grapplers who never once looked like scoring a KO or a submission.
Bingo. I do think it's interesting listening to all the boxing fanatics here running down MMA as those two guys are the torch carriers for the sport.
then why is the muscly guy being rumoured to fight the p4p great fedor emelianenko i can watch mma but not on the same show as boxing it really shows you how **** mma is in comparison to the sweet science
i never understood the popular opinion that mma is so brutal and vicious. the moment a fighter starts landing the kinds of shots that merely mean a boxing match is underway, the refs runs in, stops the fight and everyone laudes the competitors for their valor. ridiculous. i mean, i suppose i understand why the fighters say they do mma and not boxing because it's safer, but how can it be less risky and also more extreme in some lame, full throttle energy drink kind of way?
