First of all the cut did not look that bad and Sheika was still fighting. The bigest impresion I got from the fight was that Jones was acautuly using boxing rather than his speed. He will still never be confused with a master boxer. However he lead with jabs and check hooks, circled Sheika, kept his gaurd up when he had too, picked his spots and clenched when he had to. I think if Jones is to contune his career and fight elete boxers (trust me if his career dose go on for at least two more fights he will face an elete boxer and mabey in his next fight rather if it is a good idea or not.) He will have to box like he did against Sheika if he is to have a chance. There will always be questions about his chin. Sheika who is a good but not great puncher did land some clean shots that Jones seemed to take very well. Going in to this fight I felt that Jones could still beat some very good boxers at 175 but not the elete. After watching I fell If he boxes like he did against Sheika I still would not favor him but his chances are improved.
Jones is still a legitmate Top 10 contender his speed alone will cause problems for people. That said theres nothing for him to prove at this point.
Sheika is shot thats #1. #2 Sheika is tailor made for Jones because of his lack of speed. Jones can continue his career fighting carefully selected opponents.
Yep in his prime he only used power punches (with exception eg against Pazienza) and that jab is a nice weapon. I recall him saying he would like to fight Clinton Woods which i think is a decent fight as Woods is probably top 10 (although i don't know much about the division).
