Please dont get it twisted. Not only would Miguel ruin Manny that nite he would punish him. Miguel isnt a 75 LB washed up Hoya, Pac is on a hot streak and i like the guy but after this fight his career goes downhill. Its plain to see
I am a cotto fan but he looks way slower in the jennings fight i think that version of cotto is beatable v.s. Pac in Delahoya.
The key for Pac-Man is to utilize his speed with the in-and-out movement and especially neutralize Cotto's left-hand the best he can. Cotto is a one handed fighter without the left hand as far as effectiveness. If Cotto is swinging at air and chasing around Pac-Man there is also the factor of whether he runs out of gas. Cotto lost his legs after 6 rounds against Margo-Cheato. I favor Cotto but I can envision a way Pacquiao wins it. He has to be perfect to fight Cotto and win.
Of coarse Arum would want this fight because he represents both fighters however if PBF becomes officially available and willing to fight Pac assuming he beats Hatton, then I can't see Cotto interfering with a Pac-Mayweather mega fight.
He is much more versatile with the left. I'm not saying he does not have power in the right-hand but if you have to choose you take your chances on him beating you with the right.
even if manny demolishes hatton, which i think he will based on his speed and ever increasing accuracy and hatton's ever slowing reflexes, pacquio would not have any chance of doing anything except getting steamrolled and ko'd by cotto. cotto is just too physically strong, he beats his opponents up all over and adjusts well against quicker fighters, cutting the ring off and boxing them into corners and interrupting their footwork. manny's victory over delahoya was very impressive, but it created the erroneous legend that manny could carry his weight against other welters...beating an aged, overtrained, slow motion delahoya who has been fighting with one hand for ten years does not do that exactly. manny defied even my own expectations by winning that fight in such an impressive fashion, but, come on, it didn't announce the coming of a new force at welterweight.
Dont you think he looked kinda slow against jennings? compared with mosley... I agree he has power in both hands but that lefthook to the body is Pacs left straight, punchwise(not powerwise ofcourse)
Do you realize that you've just described most fighters? Whether its the left or right hand the majortiy of fighters heavily favor their strong hand.
seriously Pac has the weapons to defeat Cotto and Cotto's offensive arsenal is not well suited against Pac. But the question becomes if Pac can overcome the big size disparity. Listen, Pac has been troubled by fighters with great right hands. Cotto has a decent right hand but far from great Cotto has been troubled by southpaws. Judah, Quintana, and Corley all wobbled him. Still i think Cotto wins, but i don't see the destruction you guys are talking about.
