On his website http://www.jameslightsouttoney.com it says that he weighs 225 right now and is considering a drop to cruiser weight. If this is true, there could be a possibility for a rematch with Jones or fight with Hopkins.

There should just be royal rumble between toney, hopkins, and joney regardless of weight.

i would be very surprised if a report from toney's own website had any accurate information about his weight or training. he is, most likely, just trying to stir up the rumor, again, that he is reforming, at this ancient age, the habits that ate, pun intended, away his chances of being one of the game's all time greats so long ago.

it's sad, he binge-ate himself out of a historically significant career. one of the game's modern tragedies, really. riddick bowe all over again...only toney started out even more natural talent and athleticism than bowe. i want to say the last time toney was in shape was for the jirov fight, but, really, that is only by comparison to the abyssmal shape he has been in since. i suppose you'd have to go back even deeper into the past, when he was, sadly, even in those long gone days, having to dump 40 or 50 pounds during camp to make 160 or 168. at no point, i don't think, did we ever see what james toney's best whip was because his entire career was fought weighted down, pun intended, by fighting too heavy or shedding too many pounds too fast for the body to recover properly.

He's had a problem making weight since far back into his 160 pound days. There is no way he can cut down to cruiserweight limit without something unnatural. Especially at this age. I mean the man would have to train and eat healthy, God forbid James Toney do that. :D

It will never happen. Especially at his age now.

Having to make weight is probably the only way he can get motivated enough to get in shape.

Toney had needed to lose weight for years.

A recent video on youtube showed that Toney is in surprisingly good shape considering that he has no fight scheduled, so 225 may indeed be close to reality. A drop down to cruiserweight is all talk though, as Toney will never be able to drop another 25 pounds without seriously weakening himself...
