Super Cruisers and Junior Cruisers

    When cruiser went up from 190 to 200 this helped the big cruisers who boiled down from heavy, but was a problem for those who could not make 175 as the weight jump is the biggest in boxing.

    I suggest a new 185 division - Junior Cruiser

    Heavies are getting bigger and 200 was a way of overcoming the problem of those too small, but a 15 stoner is still at a huge deficit to some othe monsters in the division

    Therefore Super Cruiser - 214 lb

    Maybe instead of making a jr cruiser division, make a super heavy division and place the cruiser limit back at 190. Heavyweight would be 190-230. Super heavy would be 230 plus.

    This. Except call it 'Fat Heavy' rather than 'Super Heavy'...

    I have no problem at all with new divisions because they create a more level playing field for the different sizes of athlete who compete.

    Think about Rocky Marciano he would be a Junior Cruiser

    Ok but I do have a problem with it..it further dilutes the distinction of being a world champion in boxing. As more divisions mean the strength of existing divisions will fall when the talent pool is spread out. Meaning shitter fighters will become "world champions" and the overall quality of boxing will decline.

    There are enough divisions as there is, it is approaching farcical and to add more would only plunge it further in that direction.

    I see the talent pool diluted by having 4 belts per division, interim champs & Super Champs. I could live with more divisions with less belts

    Well that is a fair point...I could live with that also.

    But its pretty hard to change the fact we have so many belts now...but we can prevent more divisions from doing more damage by just not forming them, so thats why Im not a fan of the idea.

    i simply don't think the cruiserweight limit should have been changed in the first place. both divisions were better off before all the redistributing began.

    We should offer the alphabets a compromise......

    They can have an extra weight division if we lose interim champs?

    Ok there would be three more champions, but 34 less interim ones - the IBF don't have interims remember!

    Thing is interim champions are a perfectly reasonable concept that are now used for something other than the limited circumstances they were initially conceived for.

    Get rid of bs interim champions, also regular and super champions.
