Wait...What??? Holman Williams NEVER beat jake lamotta. They fought ONE time, and lamotta BEAT Holman Williams. Say what you want about holman being 34, but Holman had just fought a very close fight with Marcel Cerdan in which the AP scorecard had it 4-4 with 2 even.

As for Lytell, give credit where credit is due. First you complain H williams too old, now you complain lytells too young?

Jake Lamotta may have lost to Lloyd Marshall, but I happen to believe Lloyd Marshall is a top 5 head to head middleweight of all time. Marshall won 2 clear decisions over Burley and Lamotta, and knocked the crap out of ezzard charles shortly after charles twice beat burley....Not Bad. Marshall won almost every round vs lamotta, but lamotta made him work hard every round, and had him reeling in the 10th.

Funny how a supposedly "washed up" holman williams was able to take a prime marcel cerdan 10 close rounds in which the AP scorecard had it EVEN, and beat the great archie moore just months earlier. I am not buying he was washed up. too strong of a word.
