Do u think Benn at his best would've been able to overcome the Watson of the Eubank-Watson rematch?

Benn lost a few because he tested himself more regularly than Watson and Chris. Its hard to fight all the top guys and win.

He was never cut from Calzaghe cloth where hed risk manage his career.

    BENN:

    Mclellan (Prime)

    Watson(prime)

    Barkley(in US)
    DeWitt (US)
    EUBANK (x2)

    (they were all close together)

Eubank fought calzaghe as a last min replacement for Collins(1 week notice) and Thompson for the worthless wBO gong(WARREN BOXING ORGANISATION)

Eubank had no where to go then, Benn sought all the challenges

I am a big Eubank fan but he really did underachieve IMO. The guy was honest about the fact he was in the game for money and never cared about legacy but there are so many good fighters he never fought during his championship reign.

That is a bit of an oversimplification. Eubank would not have beaten Jones and he even admitted that but dont overrate Nunn and act like Toney was untouchable when he lost to guys like Thadzi and Griffin x2.

Eubank was mentally scared from the Watson fight when he fought Collins and held back when he dropped him towards the end of the fight.

People always bring up the Thadzi fight when we talk about TOney, but people forget how many times fought during that 2 year period!!!

    20 TIMES!!!!

I dont understand it when people say stuff like this about the 1st Eubank vs Watson fight. The only thing that is clear when you watch that fight is the 1st 5 rounds that Eubank won CLEARLY.

In my estimation a fighter cannot win a fight by a clear decision, when the other guy has won 5 rounds out of the 1st 5, and there are 7 rounds to go.

    Agree with this balanced post.

His heart and personalty should not detract away from reality. Calzaghe,Collins beat him, because they realized that Eubank could not handle being pressured and made to work. That blueprint was laid down by Michael Watson and executed by Collins and Calzaghe.

I know people like to disrespect Collins, but trust me there is no shame in losing to Steve Collins he was damn good fighter. He pushed Reggie Johnson all the way to the wire in a Waar!!

Collins,Calzaghe haD the strategy, and beard to beat Eubank. He may have been slightly past his best, but he was no where near as far gone as people would have you believe.

Always think that people forget that point. For example soldiers go through so much training to be able to deal psychologically with the knowledge that they have killed someone - pretty sure boxers aren't granted the same such training.

Yes Eubank was mentally scared after the watson fight.

When he fought Joe Calzaghe, in the last round. He hit Calzaghe with a right hand, and Calzaghe looks out on his feet and just line's on Euabank.

Eubank could of easily steped back and hit Calzaghe with the uppercut, but he never..!!!!!!

It was clear to see, something was stopping him.

No. it's one of those strange occasions when Eubank actually has a sense of perspective.
