**** you and the horse you rode in on *****! You Kilt loving ******. I said if some of the people who play NFL football and basketball boxed instead you'd see more US champions. These guys have all the physical tools to become good boxers not all would be great but some would dumbass. Deon Sanders played both football and baseball so did Brain Jordan

Namely Ray Lewis. Ray Lewis would have some version of the HW title.

Boxing was still big in this country in the 70s, 80s and even until the mid 90s. Look at the ammount of boxing gyms that have closed sinced then around the US if you don't believe me. If they haven't fully closed they have mainly switched to MMA. You can't tell me the caliber of fighter hasn't gone down especially in the American HW. These guys now can't even go 8 rounds have poor footwork and technique. They would all be bums if they had fouight in the 70s, 80s or 90s.

    Hey there...calm down, my man.

Big difference in boxing...they actually test heavily for steroids. I'm afraid you would see a bunch of Michael Grants and Jeff lacys if boxing started to recruit from the NFL.

That just shows you that you don't really know too much about the American athlete especailly NBA or NFL players. Jeff lacy was a champ and ever since his shoulder injury hasn't been the same but he was a title holder. I have no knowledge of him ever playing in the NFL or NBA. Grant despite how much he's made fun of around here holds wins over Golata and Corrie Sanders.
BTW I'm not talking **** to you but to the Rus.

Dude...you're missing the point. I am an American and I take great pride in being a huge fan of most sports.

I was simply pointing out how they would probably fair in the squared circle. Just because a fighter is physically imposing in other sports does not mean that it will transcend well into boxing. The way the modern American athlete is, i doubt most would have the kind of heart it takes to be a successful prize fighter.

Look at mark Gastineau and Ed "too tall" Jones. They were considered beasts in the NFL...they failed miserably at boxing.

BTW...Michael Grant had a win over the T-Rex...not the Sniper.

I'm not into MMA but I've seen clips of this guy Fedor and I must admit he's amazing.

Mark Gastineau tried out boxing at the end of his carer he was far too old to learn anything that would even allow him to compete to a world class level and so was Ed Jones. Perhaps if he had started out boxing instead of playing football he would have fared better that's all I'm trying to say in all my posts.:-(

I understand and respect your opinion...but, from what i can see, I highly doubt that the average NFL badass has the heart it takes to be a successful prize fighter...it takes a special kind of lunatic to walk through the kind of fire most boxers do.

    Who knows though.

I agree but it does take heart to get out on a football field as well.

It sure does....but it is a lonely place in the squared circle. Like Teddy Atlas always says, "the truth comes to you pretty quickly in the square circle":good

There is safety in numbers on any NFL squad.
