Awesome. Can't wait. Confirmed fighters I know of: Muhammad Ali Mike Tyson Tommy Morrison Joe Frazier (x) George Foreman (x) Lennox Lewis Sugar Ray Leonard Winky Wright Jermain Taylor (x) Emmanuel Augustus (x) Amin Asikainen (x) Sergio Mora Shane Mosley The one's marked with an (x) I'm confident of, I'm sure I've had them mentioned in FNR4 videos so I assume they are in. The rest I'm sure about. Can't wait.
It looks good but from what i have read they dont seem to have changed that much gameplay wise: Inside fighting is a plus It still seems you have to reduce someone's health to 0 before u can drop them The corner man mini game has changed Parrys are gone Its easier to throw hayemakers - not sure if this is good or bad U cant use the buttons at all now I bet they havent fixed the stright right being as weak as jab. Developers have been banging on about the physcis for kockdowns but they did the same for the last game and we ended up with elastic KO's Hopefully im wrong i want a proper sim Would be nice if they updated the commentary
Developers have done an excellent job can't wait for this game. Does anyone know if that parrying is still going to be there from FNR3. We should have a ESB tournament.
Nah, they are putting flash knockdowns into this which is a big plus. I heard Sal Sanchez rumoured somewhere. Augustus is definitely in it. Apparently Victor Ortiz is in it too.
Are they really getting rid of the buttons? Oh hell yeah. I hated going up against people that used the buttons. On average someone that uses those buttons has the same ****ing routine, "jab-straight-jab-straight, then twirl torso around in unusual fashion like a windmill, and repeat" is someone that uses the buttons. I've seen it happen a million times. All I hope is that Fight Night is able to reward the players that make an honest effort. It's so deflating to put so much time into a game, and then have to reinvent yourself "at the last second" because the opponent doesn't have the same controller setup as you. (Although this is true, I guess a real boxer should have to be prepared for everything. Even the boring cuties...sigh.) Button users always appeared faster due to their controlled punches, the total punch control always had a flowing kind of feel to it. The buttons would cut out that flow with fast mechanical punching. I also like what I've seen in the "No two punches are the same" concept. They are trying to take footwork, and proper stance into account with strength/speed/accuracy. So that means their looking into finding out the finer details of a boxing match. At least each game seemed like a better progression.* * Writer's Note: I will admit this though; initially when I played Fight Night Round 3 for the Playstation 2 I was disappointed. After I understood their, "styles make fights" mantra I came to respect that angle. That and the fact that they slowed down haymakers.
They should make a carrer so we can unlock legends, such as wilfredo gomez, finito lopez or salvador sanchez ect....
I don't like the animation on Ali's punches at all in that trailer, I hope that get's sorted. It's good that they've dumped the punch parrying though.
