It's no secret that the sanctioning bodies are a joke, but the WBA is the looniest of them all. The WBA 122 lb champ is celestino caballero. If you look on boxrec.com his last fight was a uni fight w/ then IBF champ steve molitor. And now he has a fight with a south african coming up next month where it clearly says this fight is sanctioned for the IBF, and WBA titles. Awhile back the WBA would be calling dunne the WBA "regular" champ, and cabellero the super champ. However, the media is acknowledging dunne as THE WBA champ. what dunne really has become is a top player/contender in the 122 lb division, but he's no world champion.
The WBA, despite being the oldest of the four alphabet jokesters, is the most pathetic. They can't even afford to pay the rinky-dink fees to keep their Website current. In fact, it's up for sale! nah I like Dunne. I just hate the alphabet organizations ruining boxing. really it's unfair to Dunne that the WBA has multiple belts.

So in short, Dunne is the WBA "Regular" Champ. Same as WBC's Interim titles? Does this mean the "Super Champ" will have to face Dunne before a years time?
i think dunne will have to face caballero whithin 12 months or so . the ring mag is the real champ - vazquez everyone else is just a contender to that title so it dosent really matter . it was foty imo and it was worthy of a wrold title fight . i wonder was this thread started by a jealous englishman ?
