    Nice one Jeff :good

How come you dropped down from Junior Welter to super feather for a fight and bypassed Lightweight.

I weighed 9st 9lbs for my light welter shot.... my 'team' were not the best. I was robbed against Mcallistr and as a consolation prize I earned a masters shot away from home at super feather. I ate nothing but crabsticks and celery and water for two or three weeks before. I was a youngdaft kid... i'll put up the hardcastle fight and you'll see what heart and desire can do.

Nice work Jeff, nice snappy punches and you certainly looked to have a good aggression about you. How tall are you btw? You looked a lot bigger than the other dude.

im sure you seen them before in the training section, i have posted them before in the training and classic section

the first fight i box real good but the guy is made for me

second fight im pretty crap but show my willpower and my coach says i8t shows my fitness but i dont agree(you can make anythinbg sound good eh)

i have improved alot since then, i have another fight on DVD but it involves a low blow on me and me mouthing off at a ref for not calling it low and walking out of the ring (im past this now it was a moment of madness and feel real bad and apoligised to veryone straight after)

So you fought Junior Welter on the lightweight limit?was your opponent nearer 10st

Eating that **** must have drained the life out of you for super feather....

I have watched these before your right.... There is lots to work on but the most glaring thing for me is that you need to develop your power. Make your punches sharper and ensure they re delivered correctly. You seemed keener to throw the right lead instead of your jab. Its a intelligent punch to throw, if you don't over use it and to be fair you clipped both the lads with it a fair few times if you could come back with a strong left hook after that you would be taking your initiative away from your opponent and that would allow you to establish your jab..... When you get one.:good The second lad you fought looked a fair bit more experianced then you. He had good balance and pickd his shots well. His defence was a bit leaky but I'd say your at least 12 months away from been competitive in a fight like that. You've got some of the basics in order but you've only had seven fights so your still very much learning the way to win a fight. Your still learning and developing the stronger parts of your make up as a fighter. You need to stop thinking about the pro's too much and watxh what the good fighters in your gym/area do. You've got potential though mate. Really liked that right lead and your distance judgment wasn't bad.

I recently put together the topics I would want to teach a newbie to the sport before I would consider even taking them to the next level (be it sparring, going to an am gym) and so far i'm on fifty and I'm always thinking of more. Each one of these 50 things needs understanding so don't think that you can just gto the gym and punch a bag for an hour and thats you training. You need to be specific to develop yourself. Watching all these fights is a good thing and you'll pick up lots of great info listening to the commentators but remember your watching pro boxing and that seems to be becoming further and further removed from the ams.
