Your assuming that he gets past Berto which by any stretch won't be an easy feat.

Just to expand, if and when Berto wins like am predicting, there's no way that a Mayweather fight against Berto could be considered a tune up fight. Although PBF would be the favorite Berto with his power and dare I say faster hands, would present a stiff challenge.

I voted for Valero who would emulate much of Pac's attributes with his size, stance, and power.

No one. WHy does he need a tune up? Winky's been off LONGER, and is taking a dangerous foe. Vitali came back from 4 years...and look what the did.

If Floyd is supposed to be the best boxer by far, and as people say, keeps himself in shape, why does he need an easy "gimme" upon his return? And in a fight you chumps might pay $50 for?

Wouldn't it make sense to fight someone his size? :huh

I mean...first possibly JMM...now Valero? Who does Floyd think he is? DLH? (answer is yes... :D)

He needs a tune up. PBF relies on defense and counter-punching things that require constant practice to maintain ability at a high level. Winky and Vitali are different types of fighters. Vitali is huge fights at HW and the division sucks and Winky uses a jab and fights behind a high guard with little movement. Neither's style is as complex as PBF's.

Cotto's the type of guy you need a tune-up for, not the type of fighter you use as a tune-up.

I don't know if I necessarily agree with your reasoning in this particular instance, but I do agree with the basic spirit of your post? Why does Floyd need a tune-up? Especially for Pacquiao?

I reckon he'd be ready to go without one.

WHO says he hasn't had that practice? Apparently he spends a lot of time in his gym.

It doesn't matter what you think of Vitali, the HW, or what excuses you use for Winky. The POINT is, they took the risk and challenge.

****, you cried how much Floyd needed to fight Mitchell as a tune for for JUDAH....yes, JUDAH.:patsch

If Floyd chooses Shane, he's going to need a tune-up before the tune-up.

I don't think it's likely, and I hate to say it, but Shane's best (only?) chance at landing Floyd is if Hatton beats Pacquiao.

I think he can probably beat Pacquiao without one (even though I would be rooting for Pacquiao if such a bout took place).
