i agree that michael grant has officially crossed over to being an utterly spent fighter. despite his size and raw talent and athleticism, he was inexplicably chinny and seemed to get hit with the most unlikely bombs...albeit from big, good punchers. i am not sure grant could give haye much of a go, despite, the win streak he has put together against tomato cans somewhat silently in the years after he went from being the most highly touted heavyweight prospect out there to being the most quickly banished disappointment. in his most recent wins he has looked notably sloppy and unfocused, even against basement dwellers like billy zumbrun--who you might remember fighting a punch drunk, jellied riddick bowe tooth and nail to a decision loss in 2005. and, though he won by a wide margin, grant looked a shadow of his former self in having to bute down hard to control the pedestrian paul marinaccio over the distance in his last fight.

word is that haye v. wlad is close to being sealed and it would be a big deal fight for both guys. big money in europe and the states from tv revenue. unless haye comes up with an unlikely bomb that drops lucky between the lines of klitschko's much improved and newly mobile defensive stance, i expect vlad to control the fight on the end of his long, crisp jab and either cruise to a decision or knock haye out if he gets desperate and frustrated and tries to throw bombs late. after that, i expect haye to provide an endless stream of excuses and promises about future glories...then fight a guy like michael grant and beat him, at which point adam booth will steal more mic time to challenge everyone from jack johnson to kevin johnson to dethrone the newly minted "unofficial" champion. everything in its time, i suppose.

Haye vs Grant, Povetkin, Arreola are all good fights. I'd like to see him smash the over-weight and overrated Arreola first, then take on Povetkin and Grant.

i agree completely that arreola is nearly as overweight as he is overrated.
