Why don't people still discuss Floyd vs Cotto?

What's up everyone. It seems lately that everyone is talking about FLoyd vs Pac, FLoyd vs Hatton 2, Floyd vs Shane, and even Floyd vs Marquez.

While all these fights would be interesting to watch, is there still anyone here who believes that Cotto poses the biggest threat to Floyd b/c of his style. In order to beat Floyd, you have to be a very smart pressure fighter who can box and you must possess a great jab. I still think Cotto has what it takes to beat Floyd. I'm not saying that he can easily win, but of all the people above, he does have the best chance.

Floyd vs Pac-Simply put, Pac is just too small to fight the big boys at welterweight. While Pac has developed into a more well-rounded fighter, I believe Floyd easily handles him. Pac has problems against boxers and FLoyd is the best pure boxer today. This fight makes sense financially, but I think Floyd wins in a lop-sided decision, possibly KO.

Floyd vs Hatton 2-Cut the crap with this one, I dont care who is Hatton's corner, he is still a terrible fighter with minimal skills. FLoyd dispatches of him easier than the last time. HATTON IS NOT THAT GOOD!!!

Floyd vs Mosley-Think about it people, Mosley is not the slickest boxer in the world. Don't let his victory against the defenseless Marg get in the way of common sense. Shane's best days are behind him. If Cotto could outbox Mosley, do you really think Floyd can't??

Floyd vs Marquez-This fight is just a joke if anyone thinks Marquez can win. He is past his prime and is too small. Floyd takes this.

Cotto has the tools to beat FLoyd b/c he is master of EFFECTIVE PRESSURE. Let's not forget this people. Financially, FLoyd vs Pac makes great sense. But if we want to see a great fight, Floyd vs Cotto is where it's at.

no one discusses it because everyone knows floyd is afraid of that fight and it's not realistic to expect it to happen. floyd only handpicks old faded or smaller overmatched opponents and Cotto does not fit that criteria.

Perhaps that is true. I just get annoyed with the fact that people are excited about him fighting Pac, completely disregarding the other true challenges out there. This is no glory is beating up a naturally smaller guy.

People didnt really care that B-hop beat up Tito. They cared more about him embarrasing Tarver and Pavlik.

People like Pac b/c he is fighting people in classes above him.

People loved Tito b/c he kept moving up in weight and destroying people.

It's not the same when you are waiting for the little man to come up and get you. Floyd should be challenging people at his weight and at middleweight to truly become all time great champion.

Until then, you are 100% correct. He is a handpicker, or at least has been since he moved up to 140

very true all of the other possible fights have big disadvantages

mosley - old (floyd would outwork him over 12 because he will not just be coming after shane, shane will have to look for him)

pac - small (but still an interesting fight)

hatton- small and got battered by floyd already

i would be very happy if the cotto fight got made but i would be happy even if the pac fight gets made

I still think its a great fight. I just dont think Floyd will take it, he'll probably fight either Marquez or the Pac Hatton winner

Yeah, thats about right. Which is why I think he will pick Pacquiao or Marquez, maybe Mosley.

Cotto already deserves a fight with Floyd. If anything, he deserves a fight over all the other fighters mentioned, including Pac. He shouldnt have to prove himself anymore. People who still say he needs to prove himself are usually haters.

This fight gets talked about enough...truth is even if Mayweather comes back Cotto isnt his best option and wont be until he gets to the top of the welter heap again.

Cotto was beat into submission by Margo and then his comeback fight was an ill advised ppv, that no one ordered , for a paper title(the third vacant title that Cotto has won) against a C level set-up. Cotto's stock is down right now. Mosley just kicked the **** out of Margo, and Pac beat the **** out of Oscar. Their stocks are up. Fights between Mayweather and Pac or Mosley are much more interesting at this point than a fight between Floyd and Cotto. One big win for Cotto and this could all change.

That's pure fanatsy. Pac has been in the game longer, has a much better resume, has won titles in 5 weight classes, and is the no.1 p4p fighter in the sport(a position Floyd held until he retired). Let's also not forget that he's a much bigger draw than Cotto, that he beat Oscar worse than Floyd did and now he has the chance to beat Hatton worse than Floyd did. On what basis does Cotto deserve the fight more? Because he barely beat Mosley? Because he won a bunch of vacant titles?
