    Looking forward to this, would love to see Gomez roll back the years, but I think Ricky will have too much for him, I was impressed with Burns against that African fella who went 12 with Funeka.

    burns by stoppage.

    as much as i like gomez, i'm not sure what he's done to get a title shot - he hasn't beaten anyone with a winning record in a few years.

    still, i guess he's still better opposition than a lot of recent overseas commonwealth challengers.

    Ricky Burns is probably my favourite domestic fighter right now....

    I back him to beat this faded version of Michael Gomez. I do personally still have doubts about his power, but as long as uses movement and picks the battle weary Gomez off, I believe he will win comfortably, perhaps even by late stoppage.

    As far as i know him and Ruiz parted company last year.

    A good double act though, he was the only reason to watch a Ruiz fight.
