Mayweather's should come back against JMM

I'm not totally disagreeing with you, but people thought it was "utter stupidity" when Delahoya was talking about fighting Pacquiao.

 

JMM is no tune-up, he's the LW champion of the world and P4P 1 or 2 depending how much credit you give to Pac's win over Oscar. The difference here is Floyd looked at his absolute best when he beat Hatton, so if Hatton couldn't deal with the bigger, stronger Floyd, why the f*ck should JMM, a natural, career FEATHERWEIGHT fight him? What a stupid idea brother. Like Hatton fighting Vazquez for 'tune-up' after a long lay-off. Or Calzaghe coming back against Mosley in 2010. "Oh I had a long layoff, let's fight Sugar Shane." I'd love to hear your reaction on that.

Running away for this lay-off when unbeaten Cotto, then strong Margarito and then Shane Mosley were/are on the top at Floyd's weight-class and coming back fighting a top-ranked career featherwight is the most coward move of the decade. Does Floyd really want that?

To be honest I couldn't care less. Shane Mosley no matter what you say is old. He has problems with boxers with movement and a good jab. With that said I think he will give PBF a decent fight but I feel after PBF beats him. The same people claiming Shane would beat PBF's ass and wanted to see the fight over every other one would be the same ones saying PBF ducked JMM, Pac or Cotto to fight an old Shane trying to discredit the win. Just like thy did for the Oscar fight.:deal Shane is the more dangerous first fight for PBF because of his power, size and strength. If PBF fights JMM first the comes back to fight Mosley next so be it although I'd prefer him fight Pac then Cotto. It really doesn't matter who PBf fights people will find a way to discredit his opponent.

 

PBF isn't a 154 pound fighter let alone a legit 147 pound fighter.:-(

If Floyd can make 140, I don't see anything wrong with taking JMM as a 'tune up' fight. IMO, it would be a better fight than taking on the other contenders down there - i.e. Holt, Bradley, Torres.

Despite spending much of his career at FW, JMM is not a small lightweight right now. He carried the weight well and IMO, he's looked stronger than most other 'natural' 135-pounders. It could be argued that he's looked as good as ever with the extra pounds. If this trend continues, he could do some serious work at 140.

People don't want to think that Floyd may be overrated, but he very well could be. He fought a good fight against Hatton, but he got more trouble from Judah and Hoya than Clottey and Pacquiao got from those guys respectively.

At 140, it's a legitimate fight.

 

No discredit for fighting Berto, Collazo or Quintana as a tune-up. Or Shane, if he's that old as you say and loses to every 'boxer' with a jab.

Serious f*cking discredit if he ends up fighting a career FW, tune-up or no tune-up. If he didn't have a single fight in 18 month because, as he said, he has done everything and there's nothing out there, how stupid does it make him look to take a tune-up? But then again, let's not call JMM a tune-up, what idiocy is this, much bigger fighters, like Oscar fighting smaller, but recognized fighters? But there's a significant difference: DLH was the old and over the hill and PacMan was the young fighter moving up. Floyd is both the bigger man and the younger fighter. Shame on anyone considering this kind of opponent selection credible.

jmm is the best comeback/tune up fight for floyd. i mean, talk about the lowest risk & highest reward possible, (****in floyd) lol. and i'll be the 1st to say that jmm doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell kids. floyd is faster, stronger, better defensively & an overall stylistic nightmare match up for jmm. -oh ya, did mention he's also bigger... look, there's just no way esp with the additional weight & age can jmm cope with floyd. period.
