He's damn near. Only a person who doesn't know boxing would question Ernie Shavers power on an all time list.

I wouldn't pick Marciano over Vitali...Charles would be a good fight but I think Vitali woulda beaten him..

THE REST ALL BEAT VITALI IMO!!

I have the true facts on my side let the debate begin. Especially since you have the nerve to compare Vitali to a prime Ali.

Well, for openers a ko% is defined as # of Knockouts divided by total number of fights.

Edwin Valero is not a world champion, he is fighting for that belt next. So my comment stands.

Vitali started his career at 27-0 with 27 KO's. When Valero has as many fights as Vitlai does, his KO% will drop. Vitali in my judgment may only fight 2-3 more times. I do not see any man going the distance with him.

However, Vitali owns the highest KO% of any champion at any weight class, in the history of gloved boxing at 92.31%!

Vitali has boxed 165 rounds as a professional, and has lost at most 10 rounds total, with no man winning more than a majority of two rounds vs him. This is simply amazing. No heavyweight, not even Ali or Holmes in his prime was this dominant on the scorecards. And yes, I am talking about the prime Ali who barely edged cruiserweight Doug Jones, and dropped rounds in the 1960's to guys like Karl Mildenberger, Henry Cooper, and an older Zora Folley.

says:Ali was not in his prime when he fought Doug Jones. And you would be hard pressed to find rounds that Ali lost to the other three fighters you mentioned other than the knockdown round aginst Cooper.

: Ali was not in his prime when he lost four round to Doug Jones? Says you! The truth is Ali won the title in less than a year after facing Doug Jones, so I think your spin is limited here at best.

No-- I would not be hard pressed to see the rounds Ali lost to Folley, Midlenberger or Cooper. They are easy to spot. Have you ever watched the fights? Heck, even a short plodder in Chavalo took some rounds vs a prime Ali, moslty because Ali lacked the power to keep Chavalo off him. I doubt Vitlai losses a single round to the likes of Cooper, Folley, Midlendberger, and Chavalo. Well--Maybe one round, but not TEN As the prime Ali did. Just admit that Vitali sum of parts in terms of height, reach, power, skills, stamina, defense, countering, and punch out put make him one of the hardest heavyweights in histroy to out box.

: And let's be real here, fighters like Lennox Lewis, Chris Bryd, Sam Peter, Corrie Sanders, and Juan Gomez were much better than the tier two guys I mentioned that Ali fought in the 1960s.

: No, with the exception of Lennox Lewis NONE of those fighters are as good as Sonny Liston.

: I did not mention Liston who quit and took a dive. I was comparing the prime Ali losign rounds vs lesser fighter than Vitlai has fought. Let's stay on point here.

And one big factor:Vitali lost two of those fights. Scorecards don't mean **** if you lost the fight inside the distance.

Well if Vitlai had dundee maybe he doesn't quit with an injury vs Byrd. You are aware Ali wanted to quit vs Liston. Oh, and Ali lost 5 times on record, but that is not the full story. Everyone knows Norton whiped Ali 2x. And Ali might have been lucky vs Jimmy Young to win the decsion. Vitlai at age 37 whipped Gomez who is a lot like Young, and likley only lost one round. Its not Vitlai fault Lewis did not want a re-match, and Byrd did not want one either. What if Frazier or Norton never re-matched Ali? See my point?

: Unlike Vitali, Ali was unbeaten in the 60's. And Sam Peter? Give me a break . Peter is not as skilled as Floyd Patterson, Ernie Terrell, or Cleveland Williams. Neither Is Corrie Sanders who was stopped by Hasim Rahman and KO'd by journeyman Nate Tubbs. In fact, Wlad is the only top 10 fighter Sanders has ever beaten.

: Patterson with his attack style gets KO'd by Sam Peter. Cleveland Williams was shot literally by a gun, and well past his prime when Ali pasted him. Terrell was decent enough, but hardly a great fighter.

The hell? Ernest Shavers had great power in his right hand & left-hook, but Shavers is NOT the hardest or sharpest puncher of all-time at heavyweight....... Shavers IS overrated......... Shavers KO'd a buncha' "C" and "B" heavies during his career.. Quite often, Shavers LOST or FAILED to KO his "A" grade competition...... Who were Shavers' BEST KO victims? In my book, it was "Ellis & Norton." Now, is that truly awesome?? I think not.... Christ, Ol' Ernest Shavers was only 6' 1" tall and roughly 210 to 213 pounds in his prime... Heavyweights like "Jeffries, Baer, Liston, Foreman, Bowe, Lewis & Vitali Klit" could easily compare in power with Shavers....:rasta

    MR.BILL:bbb

    NOTE:

****.... Heavies like "Renaldo Snipes, Gerry Cooney & Gerrie Coetzee" Can evenly compete with Shavers in terms of left and right hand power.....

Well wouldn't that make Rahman and Oliver McCall like, supra greatest punches in the history of the universe? Cause Vitali did everything but hit him with an iron bar and Lennox' questionable chin stood up to all of it.

To bad the same couldn't be said for Vitali's eye.

Yes, Lennox's record against Rahman is 1-1. What is your point?

"Weakass" Rahman, in his prime, was better than prime Sanders (and therefore, of course, the twice-retired 38 year old slob that Vitali beat).
