He's probably just one of those anti-coffee people. But who knows some coaches and even officials think some weird stuff sometimes. I had a female official tell me I couldn't box if I was having my period! :patsch Whatever lady....she needs a refresher on the rule book apparently.

That's my biggest complaint as an official. Coaches will throw their kids in the ring without even educating them on the basic rules. Most don't have a clue what the hand signals are, let alone the actual rules. It's really frustrating and at the end of the day, it's a safety issue for the boxers. Every coach should be required to download the rulebook and go over the major rules their kids need to know before ever even thinking about putting them in the ring.

If your coach doesn't teach you the rules, take it upon yourself to learn them. You'll be much better off.

Depends. If the ref saw that it was a foul (low) he can either give the boxer and 8 count and RSC him. Or he can give him an 8 count, and then DQ his opponent. It's really up to the ref.

If the ref doesn't see whether or not it was low he's supposed to poll the judges. If he sees that it's low he can do 1 of 3 things:
    1. DQ your opponent on the spot (if it looked intentional)
    2. Give you an 8 count and stop the fight. (you lose)
    3. Give you an 8 count, send you to the white corner, call your opponent to the center and take points. (essentially giving you another 10-15 seconds, and hopefully that's enough time)

There is not 5 minute rule in the amateurs. If you're too hurt to continue then the fight is stopped.

In other words, it's risky. There is no upper limit on healthy food (as long as you burn the calories otherwise you'll get fat of course).

if you run a few times a week with some sprints put into your jog. Proper hard Sparring a few times a week and get pad work then Stamina should not be an serious issue in amateur fights. You'll find that if the works been done on the road and in the gym then you should be able to do three or 4 round fights without much bother.

those things look like total garbage

I'll believe they work when the dude that made them gets the nobel prize for figuring out how to give people energy without carbs.
