“I’ve been waiting for this fight for a long time. I was ready after I fought Lacy. But now that I have the opportunity, I am going to take advantage of it. I can’t wait for April 25 and I am really looking forward to doing my thing. I wasn’t dodging anybody. But I wasn’t going over there. Not that I couldn’t beat him in England–it didn’t matter where we fought–but nobody knew who Carl Froch was."

"To be honest, I didn’t know who Carl Froch was. I would tell people all the time here in the States that I was fighting Carl Froch and everybody was saying, ‘Who?’ It was kind of embarrassing. He needed to come here to make a name for himself, so people would know who he was. He can make a name for himself by beating me, or by getting beat up."

Not sure why people are getting up in arms about this...Truth is my younger bro is as big a boxing fan as me...We both fought as amatuers, and he even did some in the navy...He hasnt been able to follow boxing closely in the past two and a half years because he is in Medical school. He didnt know who the **** Froch was, and he knows as much about boxing as anyone on this site...

i think the taylor of three years ago would have cruised to an easy victory behind the long, hard jab to set up the straight right hand. however, man has taylor looked old before his time. the only reason he cruised over lacy was that lacy has aged even more improbably before his time. both guys sounded hazy and a little slurry in their pre-fight interviews. it was sad and surprising considering how little, relatively, these guys have had to stand up to in terms of knockouts and beatings. i guess they are going the meldrick taylor route, not the micky ward route. i mean, it's no knock against them...it's biological in any number of different ways, you just never know how much it is in you to take without becoming a spent fighter.

that said, if taylor can show some of the single-minded, devout, fast-paced technical boxing that got him to a world title in the first place, he might be able to pull it off comfortably enough. but i think taylor, on his best night, now, will always be a step slower and notably less fluid and smooth. accordingly, i am saddened to have to give the relatively slow and defensively lacking, but hard hitting and rough froch a decent chance of catching taylor and getting him out of there or slowing him down enough, making him cautious enough to cough up rounds and tip the fight to froch.

Probably soemthing to do with the fact that he hasn't been following boxing for the last 2 and a half years. If he had been he would surely atleast know who he was.Either that or you have a poor opinion about this site.
He hasn't had the exposure which is why he wanted to fight Taylor in USA as his first defence..he wants the exposure and recognition.Fair play to him I say

I'm actually rooting for Taylor in this one. Froch just comes off like a pric who hasn't done enough to deserve being a pric. Taylor beat Bernard Hopkins twice and you don't see him acting like an *******. I think both men fight to the level of their competition, so it should be a good hard fight.

I quite like Taylor and thought he was somewhat unfairly treated by some US fans but for ****s sake the guy couldn't draw a crowd fighting in his home town , and he's saying this ????

Plus he was offered the fight for the vacant belt and didnt want it , how scared is Froch gonna be

Taylor coming over as a bit of a twat in that interview, fairly unusually for him.

If Taylor comes in and just does what he did in his rematch with Pavlik, Froch is going to take an ass whippin'.

In the UK he's been fairly well known since the 2001 world ams, which was widely broadcast over here. Most people thought he was destined for at least world title fight contender.

but in the US, I'm sure Jermaine Taylor is absolutely right. I think taylor's got a good chin, but he'll need a good, speedy defence for this one, cos he won't be able to take too many of those big Froch punches. If Froch doesn't land the big punches, Taylor could win. But as I see it, Froch is really a bit too big and powerful for Taylor.

Btw, froch is a very good fighter, there would be no shame losing to him.
