I can't make up my mind on who will win this fight. One day I think Pac the other day I think Hatton. I hate to see either one of them lose, but somebody has to lose this fight. I expect a war, a great fight coming up indeed.
You are real tough behind your keyboard there. These sorts of big words usually come from skinny insecure 15 year olds that have something to prove, and the only way they can become something other than that is to talk tough online. Get a grip of yourself son. I stick to boxing at the least.
I agree that in essence it is far easier to move up in weight now when there are many belts and divisions. That leads to a diluted talent pool. This is why I also believe it is a great advantage if a fighter succeeds in numerous weights, as there is rarely the competition in one particular division to ever reach the status of Hagler or Monzon, or many other past greats. Jones, as a peak light heavy beating any kind of heavyweight is a great achievement. That is a success story of moving up in weight, a lot of weight. Expecting him to have beaten Lennox Lewis is what I'd deem unreasonable. Pac didn't beat the best lightweight, but from flyweight to super feather he did. Toney from 160 to heavyweight speaks for itself. At cruiserweight he beat a fighter like Jirov. I think these were all successful in fighting at higher weights against tough competition.
I'm not saying any of those fighters achievements were not impressive, they were, but in a lot of cases what they've done is beat some top 10 guys in the higher divisions rather than beat the top man and then defended against decent challengers as they'd have to years ago in order to be considered a success. The goalposts have moved quite considerably. The way the game is today with multiple titles, fighters cherry picking their opponents and then not defending their title against the top guys etc. when they move up in weight some people assume its easier to do than it really is, that size isn't a big factor in most fights and that the "inbetween" weights like lt welter and lt middle arn't really needed but years ago you'd rountinely see good lightweights fail against good welters, good welters fail against good middles etc because of the size difference.

Hatton looks fleshy but solid. Not the drained out version. So mayweather snr wanted 8 weeks but only have 4 weeks to prepare hitman???
