I rate charles as being and pretty clearly my numero uno at light heavy however i suspect that langford may have been at his best at 175 as well and rate hime higher than ezzard all time. How do people see a fight between the 2 over 15 rounds going?

I think Charles could outbox/outmaneuver him like he did in his wins over Jimmy Bivins.

Ezzard has the tools to make a difficult bout but ultimately Ezzard liked to mix it up and there Langford would flatten him, especially over a 15 round bout ..

I've got Manassa breaking down Charles with a body attack late in the fight.

I got into details with Manassa over this one. I'll see if i can find it.

Langford was far more durable, and hit harder. Charles liked to brawl often.Langford via KO.

Can't find it. May have been before the big crash.

I think Charles would be ahead on the cards when stopped. I just can't imagine him staying out of trouble for 15. Langford is also excellent at cutting and pre-cutting the ring - we have this on film thank **** - Charles would get broken down badly for me. He was tough, but not tough enough for a consistant Langford body attack.

So, does that make SAM your number 1 Light Heavy then?

Oh, no, it would take more than a fantasy fight pick to decide that, i think i'd probably pick Charles as my #1 at that weight. You?

Just Curious Mendoza, Why such of a lack of respect for charles durability when he went the distance/not floored by top heavyweight punchers marciano, louis, valdez, ray, layne, wallace, haynes, and satterfield.

Also you say charles hit harder, but Charles once killed a man. he was nicknamed for the cincinatti cobra for a reason, he was a devastating puncher in his prime.

You say charles like to brawl, i disagree. he liked to box. Charles was a far better boxer than langford, and had much faster hands. this plays a big role.

    I like charles by decision

Charles record at 175 is the finest ,imo .I have a hunch Tunney might out smart him,I expect Suzie will jump in now and say Tuney carried his hands low, well so did Loughran and he did allright.I find it difficult to place Langford,is he a great Middle? LhvY? Hvy? one ,two ,or all three?
Of the men who held the 175 title, I would go
    Moore,Conn,Loughran, Foster,Spinks.in no order.

Why do you always claim Charles like to brawl like he was Evander? And you are seriously underestimating Charles durability. While Langford does have a better chin Charles was very hard to stop, guys like Elmar Ray who was 20lbs bigger and Rocky when Charles was past his best weren't able to stop him. He had a good chin and excellent recovery/ heart so he was very difficult to stop.

Think Charles vs. Marciano, only in Langford, Charles would be facing a guy with better skills than Marciano as well.
