at least leading up to the fight...it seemed odlh and mayorga hated eachother. odlh even said as much and it seemed a bit more than hyping up the fight, regardless of their relationship now
was it herbie hide who ended up fighting with someone he was meant to be boxing with outside the press conference? i vaguely remember 2 boxers squaring up to eachother and it was on the news, i was quite young at the time tho so i cant remember it properly...
that's not quite the whole picture. Morales had been calling Barrera a *** in interviews leading up to that. Barrera had made some comments about him being dumb (not sure whether he called him an 'indian' or not). At the press conference Barrera told him - say that to my face and I'll hit you. Morales - ***. Barrera smacked him in the jaw. He did warn him not to...so that's Morales' own fault. I'll add DLH v Mayorga.
Fair enough but I just don't buy into Barrera being a nice guy who's willing to forgive and forget, while Eric is the bitter one holding onto a grudge. I think the two of them just can't stand each other. Nothing comes close to the hatred Frazier has for Ali though. It was disturbing watching the Thrilla in Manilla documentary - carrying that amount of hate around inside for all these years is unhealthy.
Yeah it was Herbie Hide and Michael Bentt, got into a fight and started rolling around in the mud outside at a photo shoot to promote the fight. Hide also got into an altercation of sorts with Danny Williams and started throwing tables around at a press conference when Hide fought Klitschko.
ah **** i wernt that young then! haha i guess i just didnt follow boxing as much at that time. danny williams, no way! gunna have a nose on youtube now & see if i can find it...
Sonny Liston ****ing HATED Ali with a passion. I'm pretty sure Felix Trinidad hated Bernard Hopkins for throwing the Puerto Rican flag.
Herbie Hide and pretty much anybody. His brawl at an Audley Harrison fight was unforgettable, I think it is on YT. From then on, it was clear Audley was not only a fraud, but Herbie's ***** as well. ''Security...... get Herbie Hide out of here'' ''Oy...... [very loud] oy....... get him out of here. Apologies ladies & gentlemen, how dare he spoil my show'' The silly twat was calling out Frank Bruno and Hide without actually realising that both of them were there, and that Bruno was not only 41, but would never get a licence to box in the UK again due to an eye problem and was on the verge of a breakdown.
On the British scene I get the sense that Ricky Burns and Michael Gomez genuinely hate each other. Can't wait for their fight tomorrow night.
