All the regular posters here know how pissed I was about talk of Pavlik/Mora. I even made a boycott thread. Since we found out Arum is not blowing Saueralnd off, and that negotiations for Pavlik/Abraham are under way, I'm not as pissed. I never thought Pavlik was ducking, but I did think Arum might be about to screw up Kelly's career. Anyway, now that I know Pavlik/Abraham is on the dockett, for some reason, I feel better about Pavlik/Mora. I might even go back on my word and buy the damn PPV, so I can see Mora get ground into dog meat.
yeah so long as it really does happen then it does make the mora fight more tolerable. i suppose we should hope that cagy **** forrest (that's a compliment) doesnt pull a rabbit out of a hat or we are all screwed
I was immediate to back you up too.:yep And now......I agree again. IF, like it's now percieved that AA fight is in the pipe line and this is a stepping stone to get there, then hell yeah, lets roll! :yep
True....AND on the flip side of the coin (and one of the main reasons I didn't like it) Mora might have just enough to make the Pavlik fight a STINKER!! No way he wins, but stinkin' out the joint is a posibility, I guess. Nah....Pav knocks his gum shield into the parking lot.:deal
I dunno. The fight itself is still a fairly predictable one. And I don't see too much chance of excitement. Mora is not coming to fight with a power punching middleweight. He's coming to run, hold, spoil, fiddle his way through as long as possible and then collect his pay cheque. For that reason I wouldn't spend any money on it, because apart from lack of competitiveness I don't see much excitement. If he's fighting Abraham its some consolation. I think people were getting used to the idea these Lockett/Rubio/Mora fights were becoming the norm for the forseeable future.
Well -- Mora and Forrest split a pair of fights, so having Pavlik and Abraham fighting them on their way into a unification fight does make a little sense, damn little, but a little. However, I agree with the other posters who've said Forrest might find a way to beat Abraham, and sorry, but Pavlik/Forrestatsch
Putting them on the same card is the only way it makes real sense, and I actually think it might do decent numbers.
No, it's not more acceptable. Pavlik-Abraham could've and should've happened in the Summer. No guarantee that Arum will step up to the plate and make the fight just beacause he said so in the latest, very promising quotes. This could be all bull**** talk just to generate interest to this utter crap PPV, and as no contract was signed, Team Pavlik can still come up late summer that "Team Sauerland has unreasonable demands" or "AA-Forrest had bad ratings, AA is still unknown". As there were talks for 18 month now, I'll only believe Arum is interested in this fight if he signs the contract. Now if the latest quote makes you and others to change of heart and buy this utter crap PPV, Arum worked his promotional magic very well. I'm sorry, but even a signed contract for the AA fight cannot justify Kelly Pavlik vs. Sergio Mora on PPV. And remember, it's the same Arum who's known for this line: "Yesterday I was lying, today I'm telling the truth."
:yep.....Stink out the joint, and that is bad. Pavlik = Boring......NEVER!!!! Side note to the last part of your post, I see your point, but same as AA in a way....who the hell else is there?? That's a part of the problem. Once KP and AA face off, then what?? You know? I feel the same way about Haye and Wlad (to be WAY off topic) ((but not as bad as before Vitali came back)). Once they fight, and it appears in each division it's all we have to be excited about, then what?? In a way, I guess sometimes you build up to and save the best for last.:yep
this fight is still a ****ing disgrace.... What the hell has mora done to deserve a title shot at the lineal belts? Get his ass kicked by forest a junior middle weight and winning the contender? WTF? Is that what gets people title shots these days? Reality shows and getting your ass kicked by an old man? Please for the love of god arum, put him in their with a top 15 fighter.
haha yeah i agree. and i also agree that these two fights would do good if they were on the same card
