So my question is, why would a legend like Ray Leonard just put that kind of label on somebody if he didn't see something in that fighter? Great fighters like him are hard to please and he just doesn't give out those kind of monikors ya know what i mean? He saw Green's style and realized it was smooth and sweet, it might have reminded him of his earlier years even... So instead of calling him Sugar Ray Green, he decided to change it up a little and call him ' Sweetness ' instead of sugar.. Same meaning..
He wasnt sweet enough to put a boxing clinic on a crude slugger in La Pantera. He actually got outboxed by the crudest slugger around. Ray Leonard must've had a few lines too many before watching Allan Green spar/train.
Yea because Sweetness wasn't himself that night. Miranda was lucky to have fought against a 50% of Green.. He still couldn't score a KO so what does thst tell u? Just shows what Green is made of.
Excuses, excuses. What does it tell you? It tells you Green is far from great having been out boxed by, like Magic says, the crudest slugger around.
He also could not put out someone with a broken jaw in two places. Neither could he put out Hilar"ious" Guzman who was 6-17. Whats your point again? He had Allan on ***** street in the last round. And he won a wide decision on the scorecards.
