Not at all, that is why some say it is biased and one sided in favour of Mike. In previous interviews mike stated that he did not **** washington but him serving time was justified for the stuff he did in the past.
# Atlas slags Cus and Tyson off in Mens Health How Mike finished his food and grabbed another guys food off him and Cus let him take it because he was the going to be the next heavyweight champion These are some of the reasons Tyson was raised to be such a menace and bully Teddy Altas never stood for Tysons crap - and I'm on Altas side - I think he speaks sense about Tyson
Indeed, after reading the Atlas biography, i know where he is coming from. Tyson was no angel when Cus took him on, everybody knew that. But Atlas has a damn right to feel the way he has done for years!
I'm with you on this one Flint. Atlas does talk a lot of sense about the Cus/Tyson affair, how Cus was desperate to have one last Heavyweight champion so he would turn a blind eye to Tyson's misdemeanours and overrule decisions in his favour, etc. Tyson could get away with things simply because of Cus let him. I think Jose Torres had a similar viewpoint to Atlas' on this too. Possibly a big factor in what shaped the future Tyson's lack of controlled behaviour. Well worth reading Atlas' autobiography too by the way if you haven't already.
I will have to read that autobiography because Teddy Altas does seem to speak alot of sense Camille Edward the old woman told Tyson to give the food back to the other guy he snatched it off But Cus stepped in and said Tyson could have it as basically he was "special" Bad lesson - basically helping to breed a bully A bully a strong man like Evander Holyfield would not submit too and bashed Tyson twice The second fight was worse for Tyson than the first because in the first he was physically beaten but the second fight showed he was mentally beaten as well Him biting Holyfields ears was just a violent way of throwing his toys out the pram at meeting someone he could not dominate
The Doc also touches on the nasty headbutts by Holy, he fought dirty and punnished tyson in both fights. Mike was saying how he felt nothing from Holy's fists/jabs, but blacked out from something else, IE the Headbutting.
I have no doubt that Tyson went into the ring for the second fight with a pre medated plan to bite Holyfield I have seen a interview in a studio with Evander and Tyson on a camera link talking about their upcoming rematch And Tysons comments in hindsight clearly show he has got sinster intentions for the rematch.
I disagree. Tyson started getting headbutted again and lost it. He couldn't put up with the psychological warfare of a dirty fight. A little bit like Ali hold Foreman behind the head and talking to him. Foreman simply saw kill kill kill. Tyson's a nut jub plain and simple but damn I find it interesting. I can't help it.
ive pre ordered it from the little chinese bloke who comes in my work every wenesday but im not sure he knew wat i meant as he only seems to say new one and good copy!
If Cus gave preferential treatment to Tyson, that's not Mike's fault, it was D'Amato's! Atlas may indeed have reason to feel the way he does about Tyson, but do not think for one second that Teddy is not bitter that he was told to leave the camp before Tyson hit the big time. Atlas is a very bitter person imo & who knows, if that happened to me, maybe I would be the same! Atlas probably figures he is the one could have been training Tyson throughout his peak, guided him towards the title, earned big money, etc. Instead, it was Kevin Rooney! I will say from what I've seen, Atlas/Tyson did get along well before the fallout & Teddy trained Mike well!
