Vitali & Vlads 5 best wins - what are they?

Once again... you still haven't explained how his chin looked weak against Peter. You did explain what everyone knows... that he was still a bit uncomfortable as he tried to transition between his old style, and the style that Steward has implemented in him. However, in my honest opinion... that fight is exactly what he needed to get over the hump, and past his losses. He has gotten better and better ever since.

My only fear is that Wlad is once again at a point in his career where he isn't being challenged in the ring no matter who he fights. I hope that he doesn't grow complacent once again. I really don't think that he will though, because his losses have made him greater.

Agreed, Haye is not washed up like Rahman, or 15 months inactive coming into the fight like Brewster, or have series of wins over nobodies on his resume like Thompson. Haye is the real deal in the skills and talent department, I just question wether or not he can stand up to Wlad's style, which involves clinching, jab after jab, and his laser like straight right hand. My money is on Wlad, but Haye is live underdog at the very least, I give it 70/30 in favor of Wlad, which is the highest I gave for any fighter facing Wlad since Peter in 05.

wlad didnt get 'complacent' when he fought corrie sanders (and that was the fight that changed his career).

i was in switzerland when the klitschkos were making a name for themselves and wlad was always - always - the more talked about brother in terms of talent.

the sanders fight only showed that having the range and power has its limits when you're in the ring with a fighter who can get through them.

i'm one of wlad's biggest fans becaue i know what a massive mental step it is to overcome a loss like that and recover from it.

 

Fair enough Widdow, I really cant argue with this post much. All I can say is Wlad used what Steward showed him to survive the rough spots in that fight, he looked very fragile doing it, but he got through it. I give him credit for that much.

Wlad is not be challenged as you pointed out in your second paragragh, but it's not like oppenents he's been facing lately have been anything special, both Thompson and Rahman are hardly the fighters he should be facing. I just wish fighters like Povetkin, Chagaev, Valuev, and Haye would step up to the plate and give Wlad some competition. Fans such as myself, are getting tired of seeing him walk through lame opposition, it's time to see what the champ is made of, hopefully Haye could do that.

 

I'm not a nuthugger...:bart I am a big fan though. A huge fan of the sport of boxing, and I won't lie when I say that Wlad is one of my favorites. I just feel that he is attacked on here so much that someone needs to stand up and defend him.:good

Thanks for the nice words, but don't bother with him. Obviously something is not going well in his life. Which is why he is resorting to personally attacking me as if he knows me. People like that normally don't make it very far in life. I guess that I am just an unhappy guy who has had the privilege to train with Olympic athletes and MMA Champions, has a beautiful lady, two great kids, gets to train kids in a sport that I love, as well as own my own business. Sucks to be me.:conf

:good thats my point about the fighters wlad and vitali are facing nothing wrong with them but they are not setting the world on fire, were as fights with the other real besta round would give them alot more respect.
I know valeuv would get beat by either wlad or vitali but it would be a huge win for either brother i hope valeuv stops ducking them.
Haye and chagaev both seem willing to step up and wins over either or both would make the top 5 wins of both brothers.
Not sure about povetkin i think he is ducking wlad but i can't say 100% and if i was him i would duck wlad and try and get a fight with valuev or vitali.

 

yet hes one of the boxers i respect most in the world but all you've read into from my posts is that wlad went down when peter hit him flush....

i'll back wlad 100% if the point is legitimate but saying that wlad didn't go down hard when he got clocked isnt being objective, is it?

but i agree with you when you said it made hm a greater fighter.....

sanders and peter made him into a totally different creature.

next time you want to call someone's post "pathetic" just because one sentence got your back up, get a better perspective on their point of view before you dismiss them.

 

I'm going to be honest with you and I want to be the first to say it so people actually give me credit for my prediction. If Vitali fights Valuev he will lose, last saturady Vitali was no better than Valuev was against Lyakhovich, his only true weapon was his size and jab, thats it. Valuev and Vitali are both comparable in size, jab(When Valuev chooses to use it), and chin. I feel Vitali wouldn't put a dent on Valuevs chin, and Valuev's pretty good workrate would at least match Vitali's, making it hard for him to mount a solid attack or able him to drop his hands and pick his shots as he generally does. I feel the fight would go the distance and end with Valuev victory, he's the only fighter I feel that can beat Vitali, just my opinion.

Povetkin is playing games, but I think he just wants to be fully prepared when the time comes to meet Wlad in the ring. I think it's slated for later this year, the fight should be interesting.

 

Wladimir's biggest wins are Hasim Rahman, Ray Mercer, Chris Byrd, Lamon Brewster, and Sultan Ibragimov.

 

Chill out man, 100% fit physically Brewster probably was, but not mentally, the guy barely tried in that fight, it was obvious he was not into it. Anyway, Wlad completelly dominated and I don't think the result would be any different if Brewster was completelly fine. Wlad today is much more effective fighter and has taken a couple of steps ahead in his career while Brewster has taken a step back. Even if Brewster goes back to his best days I think he does not belong with Wlad anymore.

All I'm saying is that I think Wlad had other wins which rate higher than that, fights against good opponents who came in hungry, in top shape both physically and mentally, and put up a bigger challenge.

 

One of the most obvious things to everyone else is how that list of opponents is so lacking in great or talented big men. But why let that get in the way of full-blown nuthuggery?:good

Him not stopping because of injury, his eye a mess and wanting to fight on. Winning the fight, people loved him for it.
