Maloney and Munroes comments on Dunne/Peters

I can't see that logic flying to be honest. A straight Dunne V Martinez rematch makes a lot more sense and is not so convoluted.

 

I think Dunne will be looking at a bigger fight now, since Martinez brings absolutely nothing to the table (Munroe fans would slate Dunne for taking the fight ahead of Munroe), apart from wanting 'revenge' against Martinez.

It really would be a lose-lose situation.

Munroe fans have been slating Dunne ever since Munroe beat Martinez so that's nothing new.
I still stand by my belief that Dunne and Peters would be mad to give Munroe a title shot after everything that has gone on.
I get your point about Martinez being a lose lose, I was just pointing out that there would be a lot more interest in that fight than a Munroe fight, I can't see a lot of people falling for the "he beat the man, who beat the man" element, I know I don't buy it.
Like I said before, why isn't Munroe compelled to avenge his loss to Andy Morris, who beat him, by fighting John Simpson, who beat Morris twice? It dosen't make a lot of sense put like that does it?
I hope Dunne takes on Oliver Lontchi and then Kratingdaenggym.

Just saying it would be a good angle to use, for them to make Munroe look like a 'monster' to the average Dunne fan. It was recently done with the Khan-Barrera fight, where we knew that Barrera was well past it, but the average fan thought it was the same Barrera that defeated Hamed, so they used the angle as Khan getting revenge for Hamed by beating Barrera.

Any idea who Munroe is fighting for the commonwealth? Is Steve Molitor in the running?
That would be a good fight and a chance to see what Munroe is really made of.

 

See now this is why Dunne winning the world title is a bad thing because Dunne's fans now feel they can undermine Munroe, who just over a year ago was a total unknown quantity.

I think we all know what Munroe is made of from the 2 fights against Martinez, yet lacks that experience to be challenging the top fighters in the division for his next fight, maybe we will get an indication that Munroe needs a couple more fights for experience after the fight, after all he has only had 19 fights.

 

I actually just meant, we can see how he handles a world class fighter, I wasn't been sarcastic or trying to undermine him or anything.
I have nothing against Munroe and would like to see him do well for himself.

Ive seen martinez box twice (in person not tv) since the Dunne fight he really got lucky against Dunne the first time anyone who has seen martinez box should agree with that. Munroe beat him twice Ive seen munroe box in person aswell. Hes not on world title level any one who cant see that is looking threw rose coloured glasses. Why do you think they didnt take a fight with dunne when they were being offered 100,000???

Ive been saying this before Dunne won his title he would completely box the ears off munroe plus munroe isint really the draw hes made out to be ***an brought more fans from Ireland when he was fighting Khan.

Personally i would like to see the fight because it would be an easy one for him.

If he wants to compete he will need to give up the bins and fight a named fighter instead of italian taxi drivers...

Dunne is likely to head to America to fight one of the big 3. I'm sure he still wants to win and all but $$$ comes into it now. If he can 'crack' America for even 3 or 4 fights he'll ****ing rake it in. The yanks love a fighting Irishman and lets say he beats a slighly faded Vasquez then he will cash in big time.

The prospect of Dunne -v- Munroe does nothing for me. Dunne -v- One of the Top 5 is a far better prospect.

Face it Rendall fans, he blew his ****ing chance and he's hoping and praying Dunne does him a favour, and lets get it right it would be a HUGE favour, and gives him a shot.

1) Munroe turned down big (by his standard) paydays to fight Dunne.
2) His manager ran down Dunne in the press multiple times.
3)Then Munroe turns down the chance to fight Cordoba because they didn't think he could win. In effect Maloney bottled it. He was afraid of his man losing.
Maloney then says Dunne will get battered and be finished after the fight and have nothing to offer to anyone.
4) Dunne wins the title and now Maloney is trying to make out like Munroe is a big fight for Dunne. Get a grip.

Munroe missed the boat by (him or his team or both) not having the balls to step up. Now I'm not accusing Munroe of bottling it but if he really, really, really wanted the shot at Cordoba he could have got Maloney to make the match. The chance was there and now its gone. Dunne has far bigger options than Munroe. Anyone who thinks Dunne needs to beat Munroe to prove something is only fooling themselves.

My prefered path for Dunne would be Lontchi, Poonswat and then Caballero or a move to FW.

Dunne seems to be set on going for Vasquez then Caballero or Juanma. It may well end in a couple of defeats but no one can accuse the man of hiding or not stepping up to the plate.

No guts, no glory (a painful realisation that must be dawning on Maloney and Munroe now).

Maloneys offers to Dunne are a joke and the hype he is trying to attach to Dunne -v Munroe is a joke

I couldn't agree more. Fair dues to Munroe if he takes the big fights and does well but let him go out make his own luck.
Dunne owes him nothing.

 

Why is Dunne being made out to able to box rings around Munroe? Dunne relies on fast hands and keeps them low leaving his shaky chin exposed.

He won his title on pure heart, not boxing rings.

 

Dunne has always been a very technically sound boxer.His defense has improved and even if he hangs his hands low, Munroe is not a big puncher.
I would put the version of Esham Pickering who Dunne beat in 2006, ahead of Munroe as he is now, and Dunne certainly boxed rings around him.
The only thing Munroe could hope to do is bully Dunne onto the ropes and work to the body to try to grind him down. I just think Dunne would be to evasive and skillful for Munroe to be able to use those tactics.
Show me an example where Munroe outboxed or stopped a boxer with Dunne's skill and I might change my mind.
Don't say Martinez btw! He is nowhere near Dunne in skill level.
