Just Curious why single marciano out? why not dempsey, frazier, louis?? In my humble opinion, I think Marciano decisions tua. Marciano is too skilled for tua, and rock would land the cleaner blows. Don't think for one moment he can't hurt tua either.

I think a Marlon Starling bringing his "A" game could beat some of the recent greats who've fought around the 147 range (DLH, Trinidad, Mosley).

A couple might go down to close controversial decisions though.

Didn't want to start a thread on this but Youtube has up now a 10-11 minute highlight clip of Cooper & Folley's first bout in 1958! Zora looked beefy, smooth and imposing and a young 'enry was busy with his jab-jab-hook-rare right-jab hook attack, tying Zora up in close. Sort of neat seeing the 23 year old Cooper with a little more hair sporting what looked to be some sort of mock-flattop. Folley apparently built a decent lead early on (I think he decked Cooper in an early round-not a huge shot) but Cooper came on in the last rounds and at the bell ending the fight the referee raised Cooper's hand immediately after the bell. No complaints from the Folley corner. Of course we know in the rematch three years later Zora starched him in under two rounds. Interesting that this fight occured exactly one month after Ingo blasted out Eddie Machen. That autumn of 58 period must have been one of high hopes for the Continent HW contenders. At the end of the fight, the announcer mentioned that this put Cooper in line for a title fight with Patterson. Anyone know why the less than talented Brian London replaced him and got the May 59 shot instead?

There is not a heavyweight on anyone's top-10 list who would have an easy night against Vitali Klitschko. And there are a few top-rated guys who he would beat down and stop.

Don't know why London got the shot but I do seem to remember reading somewhere years ago that it caused a big stink and possibly the British board of control didn't recognise it as a title fight. I think London may of been fined for going through with it as he wasn't the British champion.

In my honest opinion Starling would decision Floyd at 147.
