Not really to be honest I'm past that for the most part. I had always thought Margo was limited and flawed I thought he got to where he was by being a hard worker having a strong will, workrate and chin but I never thought once he was a cheat. A lot of people here have the wrong perception of me it's the fans that get to me more than the boxers themselves but at the end of the day I'm a boxing fan and hate to see stuff like this happen in the sport I love.

 

That would be appropriate. Do you think that will happen though?

Cheating is cheating and I thought the year suspension was much to easy when they handed it out but now this is a whole other deal here. Margarito should not only be banned for life, criminal charges should be brought against him. I guess we now know how and why Cotto was so brutally beaten and opponents seem to "wear" down as the fights against Margarito went on. He could have killed someone and the fact that these substances where found tell me that without a shadow of a doubt there was intent by everyone involved.

I wonder what Bob Arum is going to say about this? He's at the bottom of the barrel humanity wise so I expect something from him that will try to justify or negate what the findings say.

This goes beyond disgraceful...this is criminal.

 

Man, I respect the question but let me put it this way and see if we can visualize it from another angle. Let's say that Margo didn't know what was in the wraps since he uses them at training camp, therefore, to him the feeling of the wrap was normal. I mean. I recall Capetillo saying that the wraps came from his training bag and that they use that in training. So just for the sake of argument... Why would you spend 12 weeks of hard training with plaster on your wraps? I've never heard on nothing like that before to be honest.

 

I'm still taking partial credit for it.

(I think he'll get a one year suspension, and he may be banned by HBO and Showtime for ever, but after one year, he'll be allowed back in, at least in Mexico, if not everywhere else, though possibly not in the USA...)

 

Margo will probably never fight on HBO, Showtime or in the USA again. He's probably finished. HBO is still mad at him for destroying their posterboy Cotto.

I think the answer is what Pimp C just said...it's also more convenient for them as big-time Cotto supporters to assume that Cotto would have beaten him if he hadn't cheated, then take the risk of Margo beating him fair and square again...reqwriting history might be a safer bet in this case...for their investment in Cotto.

 

Well, there's one thing for sure... I believe that Cotto should be given the opportunity to avenge his loss against Margo with clean wraps now!
