Indeed. You have to put this guy in perspective. He struggled with an old ass James Toney going on 50 lbs above his prime weight. The guy has literally no skills to speak of, even at 240lbs has no real speed or physical talent. His so called punching power is completely overestimated, as far as I can see the only worthwhile KO he has is over Maskaev who does not have the greatest of chins and was ****ing old.

Sam Peter sucks, always has and always will.

The Vitali fight didn't break Peter, it happened before hand, the success ruined him. It ruined his any hunger he had. He became lazy and content with his short lived success and did not do any work maintain or move forward, so he regressed.

Yeah perhaps. Peter was terrible that night and was terrible against Chambers from what I've seen. Shame really because I am a big fan.

Peter has No confidence or belief any more. And his team hyped him up to be the second coming of Tyson, the most exciting, future champ, etc , they Duva, Gotzev, King hyped him up too big unrealistically. That kind of talk is not good for the fighter. Let him do it with his own work,

Spot on, the guy never had the mental fortitude.
Can't ruin something that isn't there.

Sam Peter was exposed as what he is (a slugger with basically no skill) way back in 2004.

Nothing that has happened since has made him any better or worse. He is what he has always been. All that has happened is that the hype has been dispelled.

Wlad did more to complete the exposure than Vitali. Nobody with any amount of boxing knowledge thought he was going to beat Vitali going in if both men were fit. If you look back, 99.9% of people who picked Peter were basing it on Vitali's fitness, nothing to do with Peter's ability.

Peter ruined himself; overeating, overweight, not properly training.

Peter once said running was never a part of his training regiment. Peter ruined himself, not Vitali.

Yeah, he probably ruined him. But, to be fair to Peter, there wasn't much there to ruin.

Vitali probably did do Peter in. But Peter still has the power to KO an unsuspecting HW beltholder. Don't count him out yet. If he had came in shape he could've beaten Chambers.
