Yeah, I would probably agree. The crucial fact is that Bowe is very good on the inside, extremely good for such a large man.
Frazier late TKO. It would resemble the Mathis fight. Bowe's defense is terrible and Frazier will find his way through and stop him.
Not only does not have the power of Foreman, he doesn't fight long range like Foreman did against Frazier. Bowe will be caught up in a brawl on the inside where Frazier is the superior in-fighter. Bowe's leaky defense will be his undoing.
Agree with this post, some people forget how poor Bowe's defence was even journeymen would land very often against him.
I know, people seem to always point to Frazier's performances against Foreman and assume he would lose.
His power is not that much less than Foreman's. He would have a big edge at midrange and even at close range he wouldn't be at such a disadvantage as you claim given his superior strength, size and power.
He might have the edge at midrange but that doesn't mean he'll fight there. He'll be sucked into a brawl and find that his defense will not hold up against the relentless attack of Frazier. Foreman's power is much better than Bowe's, compare how many KO's they've gotten. Bowe had 10 actual KO's Foreman had almost 30 KO's. Strength, that's your opinion. (Another poster enlightened me to that.) Size doesn't mean anything Power is the only edge he has
I don't think it's that simple. Frazier will have to pay a price coming in, no doubt. Fair enough. But Holyfield named Bowe as the hardets puncher he ever met. That means something to me. Anyhow, Bowe punched much harder than Bonavena and Bonavena hurt Joe. Well, most things here are about opinion, but it's pretty clear to me that Bowe was stronger. When you fight on the inside size matters since you can lean on your opponent and wear him out. And Bowe had 40-30 lbs on Frazier. Of course, the flipside is that Frazier's shorter arms would make him more effective at close range. Ok, let's say they cancel each other out. But I think Bowe's superior strength would serve him very well at close range, though.
Every fighter that comes straight in pays a price. Bowe will pay a price once Frazier sucks him into a brawl. Frazier was green when he struggled with Bonavena. Show me where Bowe is stronger.......... Exactly, Frazier's shorter arms and relentless body and head attack would find it easy to get through Bowe's defense.
