175 was created to fill the gulf between 160 and the old style heavies. But many of the old style heavies weren't even 200. Now we have got monsters at heavy. A super heavy division would devalue heavy. I would keep cruiser at 200, have super middle at 175, middle at 168, jnr middle 160 and have super welter at 154. The new prestigous light heavy would be 214. The real division below the monsters of the sport.
We've done this before. The heavyweight division would still be seen as the most prestigious due to tradition, etc. The answer is to have heavyweight as between 200 and 230lbs and an extra division above that weight named 'Fatlazy****ersandfreaksweight'.
I think its fine as it is. If you are a monster like Valuev your most likely gonna be limited in other ways.
I know what you mean, it sounds a bit stupid that Light Heavy weight is close to Super Middle and Cruiser close to Heavy.
If change had to happen I'd rather keep lt heavy and middle where they are for historical reasons but have Cruiser at 190-195 and Super Cruiser at 210-215. Seems simplers that way than messing about with all the weights down to light middle just to accomodate one new weight class up at heavyweight.
Make Cruiserweight 175, LHW 190 Heavyweight 200 - 250 lbs, and anything over 250 should be super heavyweight.
Those 5lb gaps arn't the weight divisions, they're just to gve a rough idea. The cruiser limit to be placed somewhere around 190 to 195 and the super cruier limit somewhere between 210 and 215.
