Did anyone see Olu letter in Boxing News?

I did chuckle - taking offence at anyone slandering his boy. Olu could do good things, but he's been fighting chumps so long that he'll probably falter at world level now.

His career is just passing him by, we were having the same conversations about him 2 years ago and he hasn't moved on since then.

At least he's actually going somewhere if this fight is made. Him and his team have been all talk no trousers.

McCloskey will **** him up though. He's a wild puncher, he's just got a bit of speed and awkwardness about him, thats his only real weapon. Confusing overmatched opponents.

Olu was hilarious in boxingnews. He is still talking about Holgate and the Pryce fight.

Apologies as we are currently out of the UK back in Nigeria after Ajose's impressive stoppage of the English champion Scott Haywood.

You have seen the Bradley Pryce fight. Check out the Ali Nuubembee fight as well which was basically 2 unbeaten quality African fighters having to fight each other because no one really wanted to get in there with them.

TKO and TFFP says Ajose confuses overmatched opponents with his speed and awkwardness and that being his only real weapon. Therefore when Ajose ****s up McCloskey which I can guarantee assuming they take the fight then I trust TKO and TFFP will be man enough to apologise. I remember that going in against Holgate, Pryce, Nuumbembee and Kpadenue those fighters being the favorite. Hell even against Wright and Haywood there were people in Britain thinking these guys would win. I took issue with Danny Flexen of Boxing News as he claimed Haywood would win so long as he believed in himself and that his tall switch hitting awkward style would cause Ajose problems. Haywood came in extremely confident until the first round started and realised the difference between domestic class and world class.

As for McCloskey while he was not in our plans since we are part of the scheduled WBC eliminators the opportunity to go into a world title fight with as the Nigerian, African Boxing Union, British Empire Commonwealth and British Champion is to good to pass up on. In fact the only shame is that the European title is not part of this match up.

I like McCloskey a lot so if the fight is made then great though our first preference would be Junior Witter as beating him would mean more on the world stage but you also cannot ignore McCloskey's unbeaten record either.

dwilson said Ajose is the best fighter at Light Welterweight in the UK and has been for the last 5 years. This is a fact however I believe he is the best at 140 pound in the world and that the upcoming fights taking him to win the world title would prove it. I also believe he can do a job at 147 pounds and 155 pounds.

Yes we have unfortunately had to take some fights we did not want but the alternative would have meant to be inactive which happened after stopping Pryce as no one in the UK would step in with Ajose which was compounded after stopping Nuubembee.

Glad some think my comments in Boxing News was hilarious as I am not joking about Ajose's career. Danny Flexen did not slander Ajose let us just say he was misguided as the contest proved.

    Destiny beckons.

Not sure about any of Olu's other claims to be honest, will think further before opening my cakehole.... but Haywood certainly knew he was out of his depth as soon as the first meaningful punch landed... from then it was only a matter of time - I could see that from the middle rows of Barnsley Metrodome!

I think that dwilson was joking..... Yorkshire humour can confuse.

Who the hell thought Haywood was winning that fight? Virtually everybody on here took Olusegun, it was predictable like most of his fights. Infact I predicated that fight down to a tee. The only impressive thing he has done is come from obscurity to beat Pryce above his best weight as far as I can see.

People on here seem to have an issue with Ajose. Personally, I look at his record and I think it looks fine. I see a guy who has had good domestic fights and in between his meaningful fights he is fighting to stay busy. Beat Pryce then had two stay busy fights, then he beat Nuumbembe and had four stay busy fights, then he beat Wright and had three stay busy fights en route to beating Haywood.

I'm assuming he is finding it difficult to make fights so is having to stay busy. Usually an undefeated Commonwealth champ wouldnt have to wait 2 years for a British title shot.

On the domestic scene, wins over Pryce, Nuumbembe, Wright and Haywood should be respected. He's won the commonwealth, beaten the English champ and is now fighting the British champ.

I like this fight as both McCloskey and Olusegun want much bigger things than domestic.

I'd like to see the winner fight for the European straigh after, then go for some sort of eliminator.

People give him a hard time because we have expectations. Olu has placed that burden of expectation on him with his frankly ridiculous claims that his man beats everybody, and is world class, when he's done squat above domestic level, and hasn't even fought the best at domestic level. Maybe not his fault, but we can't give him credit for doing things he hasn't.

And then when you see him fighting guys with records of 1-2 over a few rounds it starts to get quite laughable.

His record looks fine until you see his date of birth. He should be a lot further along the road if he's genuinely world class as has been claimed. I know that not getting the decent fights isn't always the boxer or his teams fault, but nevertheless thats still the situation they find themselves in.

Beestion check out Danny Flexen's comments in BN before the fight to substantiate my claims. This was the background to my letter which BN printed. Haywood fancied his chances beforehand that was a fact.

Thank you Sir. You can only beat what is put before you unlike a lot of protected fighter. Ajose took on bloody Tony Montana in his first professional fight and the much more experienced Holgate in his 7th professional professional fight then went back to Africa and took the African title of Kpadenue who was basically a Middleweight. He took on Pryce as a last minute substitute driving to Wales on the day of the fight to destroy the hometown favorite.

I remember seeing the Pryce fight and others a long time ago. But he has not moved on from them, they were impressive at the time, but Arsenal were winning league titles then too. The Nuubembee fight was very impressive, but in reality the guy has been on the missing list since then. He could have been fighting top guys by now, instead Theophane has fought Demarcus Corley and is looking like fighting Zab Judah soon. Olusegun has missed the window, and with Hatton and Witter being around the last 5 years it is laughable to claim he is the best Light Welter of that time. Eamonn Magee also would have disputed that strongly. But if you believe that then why has he not fought anyone remotely top class ?
