    Joe Cortez is the worst high profile boxing referee ever. A joke.

    Cortez = fail.

    Bayliss would be a good choice.

    This is would be an injustice to the sport, Cortez should be locked up, if they can't find anything to lock him up for, just say hes too bald.

    I think the Lorenzo-Soto catastrophe is the biggest justification for him being barred from big fights. Yeah, he wasn't great in PBF-Hatton; but Floyd had that fight won with or without spoiling.

    Thats true, but the inconsistancy between how he reffed the clinches in PBF-Hatton and how he handled them in Calzaghe-Hopkins was suspect to say the least.

    it wont happen, just joke coach roach knows he needs a cheatin ref to win this fight. if by some miracle cortez is appointed, you can guarentee the fight will be off.

    i'm assuming as there's no belt on the line (ibf don't count hatton would drop it if he had to) it's got to be between the fighters and not the sactioning body, so there's no way cortez is going to ref this fight.
