Maybe he thinks he's got it all figured out. He probably collected a decent pay check for last night's fight, and he didn't train all that hard. Seems like a good deal to him. Enjoy life and collect big paychecks that most people only dream about (he may not have figured out how fast the paychecks will go south, or maybe he realizes but figures he's pretty much set)
I think he'll fight on, as he's only 28. But his days as being a legit threat to the top fighters is going to take some work to get back. THis loss last night really sapped him of his drawing power, in my opinion. But on the posititive side, for his next fight, he can fight a complete bum, come into the fight at his lowest weight yet, destroy the bum, adn I venture to say that'll start to create interest in him, again. Since he lost last night, being so fat was probalby a good thing. Cause now, he can lose the weight (assuming he can) and people will see that as a reemergence of his drive and legitimacy. But not for me, I have no interest in seeing him fight, at all, anymore. LOL
Yup - damn shame because I thought he may amount to something very good. He was WBC champ and fought some decent fighters but his heart just isn't in it any more.
imagine if he wasn't fighting. he'd probably weigh 350. you know you are what you eat and he clearly went out and ate a big fat guy. :think
I think ANY fighter can come back. Look at Wlad. Changed his team and the way he trained...he looked at every aspect of his training and started over. Sam CAN do the same, but its up to Sam...Sam and team Peter needs a major overhaul or fight after fight with level "A" fighters will be have the same outcome
Sam Peter is never done. He always goes back for seconds. The scary thing is outside of Vitali and Wlad, He has an outside shot at being anybody in the division. The only guys who I think beat him with ease are Chagaev and Povs.
Can, but motivation can be a problem. Cleveland Cav's used to have a player, Mel Turpin. Could not stop eating for millions of dollars.... I wish I had that chance... :yep
Me too:good camp is only 7-8 weeks. Hire Sam a chef that is with him 24/7 and it will work. Like they say..where there is a will, there is a way. Its all up to Sam:good
Sam Peter is a modern day Ray Mercer.............. Mercer only fights today because he pissed away his cabbage like a fool..... What else is new in boxing? Give Sam Peter a few more years living the good life, and then his accountant will give him that phone call asking if he has any other funds tucked away in a safe place.... Once the answer is "NO," Peter's accountant will then suggest a comeback to boxing..... Thus, Sam Peter, at 290 lbs., will embark on a listless comeback touring the country kayoing tomato can after can for rent & car payment money....... I've seen this before..... MR.BILL
