I hope it's not aPPV event but when Chavez has a famous dad and Lockett such worlwide respect it probably would be. Lockett used Calzaghe as a sparring partner when they were both world champions, maybe he would come out of retirement too and fight on the undercard.
me: hey, lv lurker? lv lurker: sup? me: you tired of bennyj's stupid threads? lv lurker: yeah man, getting old. me: i TOTALLY AGREE WITH ME! I MEAN YOU!
He did not just lose to Pavlik. That's no big deal. 34 others suffered the same fate, and 31 got stopped, but Lockett took 3 ****ing knees in the rounds. I've been a boxing fan since the mid 1960's, and I have NEVER seen a guy take 3 knees in 3 rounds in a world title fight!
Lockett's said he "never really liked boxing" and it was "always secondary to other interests" after Pavlik fried him. Lol, what a fool. If he fights again he'd be a massive hypocrite.
Lockett is finished now but he was a fairly decent prospect back in the day. He had good power and sound skills. He wasn't able to compete in the higher echelons as was evident against Pavlik. I'm not sure how he would fare against Echols but on the face of it he'd come of worse probably dropping a UD.
Echols is ancient now and shouldnt even be fighting. Why was this pointless and pathetic thread even started?
Hell, Lockett wouldve smashed that Ronald Hearns chin in round 1 and hed probably have a good chance of beating JCC Jr as well
