Yeah good on watson sounds like he had a good night out there,havent seen it yet but went 2 he last fight at the o2 and he looked like a decent prospect.Does that mean it will b murray vs watson next 4 british title?

 

Was gutted that Gethin lost but was impressed with Watson lastnight.

A good fight between two evenley matched boxer at the same level who may have world title aspirations but we the boxing fans know their limitaions put on a terrific fight for what IMHO is still one of the most pretgious belts in boxing. With more promotions like this British boxing is in safe hands Well done Haymaker

 

did any of you guys catch the down the bill fight between McNally & Delehedy, McNally looks like one to watch Fast hands Good movement & agressive with it it's early days but I will watch his progress with interest

 

That was a amazing fight by two guys to fight in a "brawl" style loads of world champions fight in that kind of style, (steve collins, nigle benn, scott harrison, Ricky hatton) to name a few. Not all boxers fight in a jab and move style does not mean there not good at what they do, and it does not mean they are not skilled,

But you proved you know **** all with the Enzo comment, you should not come on a forum putting two guys who just fought there heart out down, hopefully you will be so embarresed by that Enzo comment you wont come back!:good

 

Box-Now, you can`t compare the likes of Hatton and Harrison with Dodson and Quigley. When Hatton and Harrison go at it, they use their boxing skills to best advantage. Take Dodson, the more talented of the two, despite the result. Why did he not use a jab last night? His opponent would have been neutralised by a simple jab "defence". Instead Dodson seemed intent on going in so close that he could get no leverage in his punches.
Then we had all the dancing about in the middle of the ring, all to no purpose as they only engaged when they stopped dancing and pushed against each other. Forget "jab and move", a jab would have infinitely improved the effectiveness of both boxers.
By the way, neither you nor anyone else who is criticising my views have been able to argue that there was any skill displayed in that bout. Instead you all seem to be saying, "no skill,who cares? It was a great brawl". But this was a title fight and if we are going to improve the standard of British boxing then someone should be prepared to state the bleedin obvious! If that was the cream of British boxing out there then God help us!

 

Dodson was winning on the inside mate when they were split quigley was getting his shots off quicker and winning on the outside.

 

That fight was great for British boxing everybody i have spoken to really enjoyed it, I am in no way saying that Dodson and Quigley are any where near the level of Harrison or Hatton i was just pointing out that there are different styles of fighting, all boxing involves a certin degree of skill, and as for throwing a jab, any off the world champions i mentioned hardly ever throw a jab, I do not know how you can say they have no skill, fighting on the inside is a skill, the pressure Dodson out Quigley under is a skill. Just because they never fought in your prefered style does not mean they are not skillfull.

And for someone to talk about saving British boxing when they do not even know what weight a high profile fighter is, is a bit rich to say the least.:-(
