Some of you guys are hilarious. Oscar by KO. Oscar was a big, accurate puncher with an excellent jab. I am a Cotto fan but he isn't durable enough to compete with someone on Oscar's level.
I thought that, but i chose Cotto, DLH never used to be able to cope against important oppistion but at the same time Cotto is majestic .
Agree....alot of people forget how good Oscar was in his prime. Oscar was a really good boxer in his in his prime. I think there are just alot of haters. Long time true boxing fans even pick Oscar over Floyd.
The man won ten world titles, and god knows how many title fights. Some of the **** that gets written on here is epic. :roll:
Mosley, Trinidad, Hopkins, Mayweather, Pacquiao sticked out in my mind. I have respect for the guy, but Cotto would beat him.
No, he wouldn't even come close. Cotto would have to respect Oscar's power, and Oscar would wear anything Cotto could throw. He would comfortably outjab Cotto, and when he hurt him (which he most certainly would), he would finish him, unlike previous fighters who managed to hurt Cotto, who weren't anywhere near prime Oscar's level (Judah, Torres etc.)
Oscar KO and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to either do some homework or quit hating. DLH in his prime was a bad, bad dude.
He was (obviously) robbed against Trinidad and against Mosley in the 2nd fight. Hopkins is a current Light-Heavyweight, Oscar was a former Super-Featherweight, who had done literally nothing at MW other than lose to Felix Sturm. Oscar, nearly 10 years past his absolute prime, lost a SD to the P4P King in Mayweather. And a weight, drained, semi-retired, old, skelton version of Oscar lost to another P4P King in Pacquaio. I know people love to say "Oscar wasn't very good", or "Oscar lost all his big fights", but frankly, thats bull****, and what you said before, was bull****. You don't win ten world titles, in six weight classes, and have a resume that includes wins over Quartey, Chavez, Hernandez, Gonzalez, Whitaker, Mayorga, Vargas etc. etc. etc. by "losing all your big fights".
Prime De La Hoya was a lot better than Castillo, and many people felt that JLC beat Floyd. So I don't know why you think that, especially considering a well past prime version of Oscar only lost via split decision. A prime version of Oscar may well have KO'd Floyd.
I have to go with delahoya. During his prime he was very hard to beat. If you look at his losses it was mostly against slick boxers like mosley and b-hop. The tito fight was close but he didn't really have that much problem with tito. I dont know why he decided to ran around the last 3-4 rounds. I think he would have won that fight if he stayed busy.
