Only lost to Danny Williams, Hasim Rahman and Lamon Brewster, Last couple of fight's were in Germany, Can't see why he's so highly ranked but as an Aussie he could fight for Rogan's Commonwealth Belt and would be a huge stepping stone towards a shot at Chagaev or Valuev.

The reason for Meehan's high placing is winning defending the PABA title aswell as knocking out Davaryll Williamson

 

Rogan has to get Ranked by the WBA, to get a shot at Chagaev or Valuev, as much as i love Rogies heart and determination i don't think he could beat Wladimir Klitschko for the WBO Title so WBA may be the way to go starting with Meehan.

It'd take more money than Warren's willing to give, Meehan is the #1 contender and seeing that he's fought his last two fights in Germany, presumely beeing groomed for Valuev or Chagaev it'd take a lot of cash to get him over here.

However Rogan doesn't have to beat the #1 to get on the list, he doesn't even have to beat a ranked fighter to do it.

I think a defence of his Commonwealth title and then go for Brewster is the right path for Rogan, unless of course a European title shot does come up.

Potential Commonwealth title opponents are:
Francois Botha-a big name and presumely has little left

Michael Sprott- not an exciting name but well known worldwide

Henry Akinwande-again big name, well past his best but would probably enjoy a big payday

Mark de Mori-Austrailian who posts on this very forums, has fought in New Zealand, Indonesia and the USA aswell as his native Austrailia so has shown a willingness to travel and he has an okay record without being a big name himself.

Bermane Stiverne- Canadian with very high knockout%, has fought in Switzerland although has spent most of his career in the US.
Hasn't had any big name fights though and isn't that well known so his handlers may take decent money for a fight with someone like Rogan.

I've no real preference tbh, I just hope Rogie gets some fight that's decent for the fans and himself and can progress from it.

 

I went for Meehan because he's the only WBA Ranked possible Commonwealth opponent, Personally i would love to see Rogie fight a big name American guy Brewster, Toney or Kevin Johnson, but this next fight is a defence of his Commonwealth belt so good opponents will be hard to find, Cameron is fighting Tua, Williams is fighting McDermott,I was thinking about Botha and the canadian Stiverne tonight while looking through Commonwealth fighters but Botha is way past it and the Canadian is too much of an unknown. Looks like it could be Sprott by default, Hope to **** it isn't though.

 

Being realistic it almost certainly is, Sprott has worked with Sports Network loads in the past and will be easy to get for a reasonable fee and the public will probably know who he is, aswell as Frank knowing who he is(in terms of how much threat he possesses)

Akinwade is probably too much of a dull fighter to get the gig.
I know Scott Gammer is someone who had basically retired until he was given good money to fight in Germany last year but if Frank was really stuck he'd be an option.

But honestly speaking I can't see past Sprott and going on Sprott's recent fights that is going to be a bit disappointing for the fight as a specticul.
It would look a decent win on Rogan's record though and it may do enough to get him World rated by sanctioning bodies other than the WBO(where he is 11th).
Well he is 27th by the WBC aswell, but outside the top 15 and you can't fight for a title.

 

so..does he have to defend the commonwealth?....if a world ranked opponent came forward and was suitable, but was outside the commonwealth, couldnt rogie go down that road instead of defending the belt. ??

 

Gary Hyde has the Cubans opponents up on boxrec this morning and he is pushing the bar up big style especially for Perez who fights tough Mexican Javier Mora 22(18)-4.The opponents for the other two boys also have big winning records.No opponents named for Spike or Power yet but i'm starting to get very excited by this show..:happy
