Well, I start by ACTUALLY WATCHING FIGHTS! :patsch

If you just look at the "bottom line", then you could say that Alex Dimitrenko has better power than Vitali because he managed to stop Timo Hoffmann. Or Shaun George has better power than Vitali because he stopped Byrd.

Or if you want to get caught up in career KO percentages, then you could say that Tye Fields (86%) has more power than both Tyson (75%) and Tua (79%).
....And Solomon Haumono has more power than all of them (87%).

Does Calzaghe (69%) have more power than RJJ (67%) in your opinion?

Bleh.. I still like Marciano's record better. 49-0 with an 88% KO percentage. Noone ever beat him, and he pounded the **** out of everyone - and could throw 90 punches a round for 15 rounds if he had to. There was no quit in him - unlike the Klit brothers.

Who are you talking about now? Calzaghe?

I have his entire career except for a few earlier untelevised fights, and he has NEVER been a big puncher.

And when Roy chose to unleash, he was awesome. It's well known that he started to fight defensively after what happened to his friend McClellan. His KO% has more to do with his style than his punching power, as is the case with a lot of fighters. Which brings me back to my original point - stats don't tell the whole story.

You know how you can tell when someone is biased lol. They talk about the fighter they don't like even when the thread title isn't even talkingabout the fighter they don't like lol... Now we all go off topic sometimes, but why would you respond to someone who went off topic, and turn this into a pathetic Cal conversaton lol??? Calzaghe will be in the hall, and Vitali has a long ways to go.

This is the same guy who says Arthur Abraham can't change his style, and that Pavlik would stop him because he can't change his style lol. This is the logic he came up with after Hop schooled PAv lol... Abraham can't change lol...:nut

Ali needed help against Cooper. Ali after being hit with a hellacious hook, Ali asked the ring doctor to help him up, and walk him to the corner at the count of 3! Dundee then ripped Ali's glove, and the glove wasn't replaced until the next day which means both fighters had to stay in the ring for almost 24 hours. While Cooper was sleep, Dundee operated on Cooper and attached magnets inside Coop's face. When Cooper and Ali came out for round 5...Ali didn't even want to throw punches, but the magnets in his gloves were pulling Ali's fists towards Coop's face. Dundee would then demagnet ali's gloves, by clicking this button...tongue sticking out and all, and would press the button until Coop was sliced to ribbons lol. So in virtual reality lol..., Cooper was cheated.

I like Vitali...he can fight when he isn't quitting. Now Wlad, he is a ko waiting to happen. He has little skills. He doesn't have proper technique when he punches. He only has a jab and big right. Wlad IS fighting who ever they put in front of him win or lose. Wlad has a "jab and grab your neck" style. He never rematched Sanders or Purrity. He rematched an out of shape Brewster. wlad is going to get knocked out by Haye. Ali greatest of all times...lol

Achilleslststnd's post was completely relevant to the topic.

The original argument was that Vitali is the greatest puncher ever at HW based on his stats, the Calzaghe/RJJ example perfectly illustrates the fact that the stats don't tell the whole story.

Anyway, who are you to cry about other people getting off-topic when you post stuff like this:

Care to explain how that is "on topic"... :think

Oh man, where to start...

Vitali has worked out a great style for his size, but he is NOT a good boxer. He has basically two punches that he uses. He is excellent at using his size, but is pathetic at most of boxing's basic fundamental techniques.

Claiming Vitali is great and Wlad has "only a jab and a big right" exposes your argument as weak. I think you have the brothers mixed up.

Wlad on the other hand is very good to excellent in most categories. To complain about his current style makes you sound like you have only been watching him since Manny Steward took over. His only weakness is his chin, and his new style has that covered.

Talke a look at the Monte Barrett fight for example. He was tactically and technically outstanding in that fight, throwing a wide variety of punches and combinations, using great footwork and defence and basically giving his opponent no chance at all.
