Out of the ashes of fire and steel rose The Ghost of a dying city. With an iron will, granite fists, and ice water coursing through his veins, he was The People's Champion, but no one knew, no one could be certain, that their champion could really rise to greatness. The day finally came when The People's Champion was forced to square off against the great Gary "Three Knees" Lockett. With sizzling combinations, frightening accuracy, and terrifying tactical acumen, The People's Champion rocketted "Three knees" into early retirement, and then, the people finally knew that their champion could defend Youngstown against ANYTHING!
Didn't Lockett fight his last fight with something wrong with his equilibrium, i like him just for that Fact.
That's not true. Other than Pavlik his only other defeat was a SD to Yuri Tsarenko in 2002 and The Rocket took his revenge a year or so later beating him on points over 10 rounds. If Pavlik had given him a rematch then Lockett could have joined Lennox Lewis, Floyd Mayweather and Joe Calzaghe as one of the few modern day fighters to have beaten everyone he ever faced.
Echols would have murdered Lockett in his prime. Right now he's so far past shot its a joke, if Lockett did come out of retirement it would probably be a competitive fight. But who really cares. A shot old fighter against a nobody. It's not a fight anybody would give a **** about.
no, what im asking is, you heard that Gary had health problems before the Pavlik fight that couldve led to his problems leading to taking knees?
