Holt/Bradley are high risks with low reward.. IT's not going to add to Marquez' legacy nor will it fatten up his bank account.. He has nothing to gain and everything to lose from those fights imo..

Winning titles in numerous weight division means alot of you're fighting against the future HOF fighters and such but c'mon now.. He isn't going to get enough credit for beating those two.. And him becoming a multi weight division champ isn't going to mean much.

You think Mayweather will fight in the UK?

All ive heard from hatton is that he wants Juan Manuel Marquez at the end of the year in England. If that was to happen it wouldnt be able to be held at Wembley or City Of Manchester Stadium due to the damn weather. So maybe at the M.E.N. or even Millenium Stadium.

If he loses out on Hatton or a Pac rematch, I think we're likely to see Campbell or perhaps in a worst WORST case scenario the loser of Holt/Bradley at 140.

The winner of the fight is apparently locked to fight Devon Alexander according to some.

^^ yes it's been mandated by the WBC.. Winner of Holt/bradley must face Devon Alexander or else give up their title and i doubt these two would do that.. Holt and bradley may be title holders but they are unknown commodity to the casual fans and they don't have the luxury to throw away belts like that.. The winner wil probably face Alexander as a chance of them getting a shot at hatton/pac is slim anyways.

Pretty mucho. Therefore chances are Golden Boy will try to hook up something with the loser at 140 with potential to get a shot at the winner later on. I think JMM/Timothy Bradley would be pretty intriguing.

ALSO don't rule out a guy like Jorge Barrios if things get really tough. They were scheduled to fight a while back but Marquez hurt his hand (then Barrios got hurt after rescheduling) thus leading to the fight being cancelled. If Oscar is really hard up for an opponent for JMM, He could convince Barrios (whose owned by GBP) to move up to 140 and face him.

This is the way I see it:

Marquez will wait for the conclusion of Hatton-Pacquiao in May. If Hatton wins, then Marquez will attempt to land a fight with him first. If Hatton chooses to go after someone else, then Marquez will attempt to land a fight with Pacquiao. If Pacquiao wins, then Marquez will attempt to land a fight with him first. If Pacquiao chooses to go after someone else, then Marquez will attempt to land a fight with Hatton. Either scenario works out for Marquez since it would be a huge pay day. Also, if he wins against the winner, there will be no doubt he will the the #1 Pound for Pound fighter in boxing. If he wins against the loser in more impressive fashion than the Hatton-Pacquiao fight, he will win mega points towards becoming the #1 Pound for Pound fighter in boxing.

In either case, if neither fighter accepts to fight Marquez or if Mayweahter Jr. becomes available first, then I see Marquez attempting to fight Mayweather Jr. since it looks like Mayweather Jr. wants a fight prior to the anticipated match of himself versus the winner of Hatton-Pacquiao. This would be a mega pay day for Marquez and if he somehow gets past Mayweather Jr. he would become an instant hall of famer. He would the also be an instant draw to the winner of the Hatton-Pacquiao fight. If he loses against Maywather Jr. but in a close fight, he will still be ranked highly and have the opportunity to face the loser of the Hatton-Pacquiao fight.

In either case, it is very unlikely that neither fighter accepts to fight Marquez or that Mayweather Jr. does not accept to fight him in June. First of all, Mayweather will want to land a fight with an opponent similar in size to Hatton and Pacquiao. The biggest factor might play out if Pacquiao were to beat Hatton. Who better to fight than an opponent that gave Pacquiao lots of trouble? Surely Mayweather will not be willing to face any of the current top welterweights (because he is looking to land a fight at jr. welterweight) and at jr. welterweight, Marquez is the biggest name out there and he will be available in the June timeframe. This will be a no brainer. In the odd case that Mayweather Jr. does not accept to fight him in June, then it is also hard to imagine that the loser of Hatton-Pacquiao will not face him. Marquez is the current #2 Pound for Pound fighter and in either fighters' loss, who better to come out and win against than a fighter who is so highly ranked? It is also a no brainer.

If Marquez is very unlucky and is not able to land any of these fights, then I would think Marquez best options is vs. winner of Holt vs. Bradley - this because he will become a top guy in the division and might draw bigger fights in the aftermath if he wins. He will also add another championship belt to his resume (4 division champ).

Oh yea and I bet the featherweight champ BARRERA was scared shitless too of PACMAN back in 2003 because pacman beat some smaller guys like LEdwaba and Sasakul.. . lol

El Inca is ready and pacman would get massacred in 10 rounds or less.

    Hey pinolero

Nice post, i agree with most of what you said. The only bit i have issue with is you trying to say Marquez is a legitimate light welter fighter. With his frame, he's barely a lightweight nevermind a light welter.

True, Marquez is not a legitamate jr. welterweight. What I meant to say is that if he moves to jr. welterweight as is expected, he will be the biggest name in the division, next to Hatton and Pacquiao (if he stays there).
