Estrada doesn't have a chance unless he can really hurt Povetkin at some point and that's highly unlikely given Estrada's KO rate and Povetkin's solid chin. I think it could be slightly competitive early on but Povetkin will just overwhelm Estrada with output and coast to a wide pts decision. Late stoppage certainly possible. If he fights and defeats Alex Dim. after this which I would expect, he's clearly the established #3 imo and a worthy title challenger. Povetkin H2 is only behind the KLITS imo. You need heavy power and skill to beat Povetkin. The KLITS can out box and hurt Povetkin while maintaining distance keeping it an outside fight. Chambers didn't have the power, strength, and stamina. I think Thompson would be even a tougher test than dimitrenko given his durability, workrate, and defensive southpaw style. How do you see a fight between Povetkin and Thompson playing out?
Thompson does not have the power to keep the Povetkin pressure off. Although Byrd is a little fellow compared to big Toney, Povetkin did not seem to have much trouble with the southpaw style in that fight. The only specter that this brings up is that we really don't know how Alex handles tall fighters, although I remember someone (maybe Huki?) saying that Povetkin has a good overhand right that he delivers with power agaisnt tall fighters.
Jason Estrada has some boxing ability, yet he still looks like a porker who loves his Taco Salads con Caso way too much..... I've only seen Estrada outbox my man Lance Whitaker on ESPN before.......... Lance Whitaker really let me down..... I thought a well-tuned 239 pound Whitaker would smoke Jason Estrada..... NOPE!! Didn't happen........ Alex Povetkin looked like the Pillsbury Doughboy fighting in a trance against Eddie Chambers last year on HBO.... I wasn't impressed with Povetkin and his win at all....... MR.BILL
Povetkin has the flu in that fight, yet he still fought. Whatever, the winner of that fight will get knocked out by Vlad.
Yes they are. I was just watching some of Vlad's fights the other night, he is really good, very fluid.
What the hell? What a completely hypocritical interview, nevermind factually incorrect. Hope Povetkin kicks the **** out of both of em.
Good post, mate! As for Thompson vs Dimitrenko the version of Thompson who fought on the undercard of Vitaly vs Gomez wont stand a chance against Dimitrenko in my opinion. Anyway! Due to their styles I am absolutely positive that their fight wouldnt be a feast for eyes. Jabs,jabs,jabs-for 12 long boring rounds.
estrada seems slightly delusional, he also seems to be impressed by his less than stellar physique: This content is protected povetkin will win this, no doubt. the question is whether this goes the distance or not. what do we know about estrada's chin and what happened in the yanqui diaz fight? so either a wide ud or a mercy stoppage by the ref after many unanswered blows...
