If I would be Chambers matchmaker, i would keep him out of the big guys mix. Exxcept if he can get a shot vs. one of the Klitschko he. But vs. all the other eastern european fighters like Dimitrenko, Povetkin 2, Chagaev or Valuev he will lose and then he is out of the mix. So if no Klitschko is around, which is obvious, because Arreola and Haye are the bigger money fights, he should fight a guy like Toney or Maskaev, who are both ranked at the IBF. So if Chambers wins he will be Wlads mandatory in 2010.
Chambers woul;d get decapitated by either Klitschko. I just dont see Chambers getting to that "A" level
I think Eddie is top-class, he has all the skills needed to be champ. A real hard training camp to build up his strength/power and lose some flab is all he needs to be a champion. I'd like to see him fight either James Toney or Chris Arreola.
It's not that, it's just that the Klitschko's really use their height really well combined with their power, and Chambers is just too small, if he was 3" taller and bigger, I'd say he has a chance. I compare Chambers to a Michael Moore, both are slick boxers, but with different styles. Although I think Chambers moves better. Moore fought flat-footed.
Chambers can beat Povetkin in a rematch, Chagaev, and Valuev. I don't know about Dimitrenko because he's too tall, certainly not the Klitschko brothers.
Chambers would have to Sick and move to even come close to be effective against the Klitschkos and Chambers cant do that for 12 rounds. He gasses mid fight...he did against povetkin, he did against Peter IMO... he has stamina issues and when he gets gassed he does that peek a boo lean back defense while standing right in front of the other guy....The brothers would KO him for sure
Eddie Chambers should avoid Povs, Klitschkos and even Chris Arreola. As per who Eddie SHOULD fight, He could easily invade that WBA circle of hell and clear that out if he ever develops any sort of stamina.
I saw a big improvement against Peter compared to when he fought Povetkin. For one his punch output is higher (although he can still do more), and two his movement is better. He just doesn't stick to a peek-a-boo/lean back defense, he moves in angles to the right and left, very skilled. This is something I haven't seen from him compared to his previous fights. So he's moving a lot more with his feet and I'm confident he can beat Povetkin in a rematch.
I said when he gets tired he goes to the paak-a-boo style. Had peter landed more, chambers would have gassed just like the povetkin fight. I do think Chambers has improved, but IMO not enough to challenge either Klitschko
lost to Valuev? Yeah... look how he have "lost" maybe this bidenko that "lost" to Valuev [YT]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/KaigdKiO8Xc&hl=ru&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KaigdKiO8Xc&hl=ru&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/YT] If Chambers wants to promote himself he should get into the ring with some Europeans and win. Dimitrenko, Bidenko, Boytsov - that's my choice. After he lost to Povetkin he should find some European trainer and prove he's able to beat Eastern fighters.
