Is there any evidence or circumstances that lead us to believe that Margie ever seriously questioned Capetillo after the allegations came to light? Did he even question him when his wraps felt like brass knuckles? Did he question him when he looked around suspiciously while wrapping his hands? If Margie didn't confront his trainer after the hearing where we all learned of his punishment, then what else would give us plausible reason to believe that Margie never knew? After the hearing they looked like they were walking out holding hands. If he had confronted Capetillo I would be more inclined to believe he had no knowledge. His crying sob story to Roach appealing to his emotions knowing his future in boxing is down the slippery slopes is all we have to go on coupled with his cheezy grin in denials. Would he be more believable if he had questioned? At least it would show a grain of honesty and integrity on his part. What are your thoughts?
Margarito knew what was going on and was content with it since it won him some fights. Edit: You can be sure that Capetillo will be well compensated for taking all of the blame in the matter.
i kind of wanna see how margo act towards capetillo now, that'll pretty much tell us the story wether he knew or not.....
at this point, it's all smoke and mirrors and speculation and anonymous tips and accusations and denials and claims of innocence. there will probably never be any way for the boxing public to have any idea who knew what, whose idea it was to brick the gloves and so on. the strategy of lying so completely that the truth becomes some vanished and arcane idea is all part of the dog and pony show of disgraced celebrities, of every kind, being unwilling to accept the reality of their actions or their situation. i expect that this mess of conflicting stories will continue until no one cares any more and a de facto banishment sets in for both margo and his trainer.
i think it's pretty clear that margarito cheated, whoever was pulling the strings, and knew about it before, during and after the wraps debacle. i also think it is probable, though it will forever remain a question without a definitive conclusion, that someone may have loaded the gloves in some of his other fights. who knows? hard to say. better to just write the cowards off and move on hoping we don't have to confront this type of thing again in the near future.
Not really, of course he is going to have to drop all ties to Capetillo now, he needs people to believe that he didn't know about it if it wants to avoid a lifetime ban. Thats why he approached Roach. I find it hard to believe, and so should anyone else who ever has had their hands wrapped, that he didn't know what was happening. There is no way that he wouldn't have seen the insert and even if he didn't see it getting wrapped in, you can definitely tell once if your hands are hard as rocks, and he never saw anything suspicious once his hands were unwrapped? PLEASE , this is a joke.
