Oh, and Sarah - did you find any evidence that Taylor refused to offer a rematch with Wright, as you claimed? :hi:

Here, I'll save you from wasting your time; from: http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=2489618

And in case you actually missed seeing the fight, and the post fight interview, Taylor said he'd be glad to give him a rematch. This was while Winky was storming out of the ring, back to his locker room like a little kid who got his toy taken away.

I'm glad you posted that Stew I deliberately left that out so I could set up up for a rebuke :hi: I just wanted to see if you'd address my points but instead you attempted to parry them aside with an end of thread remark; very shrewd indeed.

Winky had every right to storm off, it was well documented many thought he'd won. Don't make me embarass you further and dig out more quotes........
Ofc course Taylor had to give the man a rematch just like he did Pavlik after he lost and he knew it. He was HBO's poster boy and got a gift he knew that so ofc he was going to rematch so your argument is utterly mute. Rematching fighters you thought were easy pickings but gave you a hard time and controversial win isn't 'balls'.

Here's your 'champion' after fighting Wright - a man who two fights prior was fighting a weight division below who also gave up over two inches in height and 5/6 inches in reach yet STILL couldn't pull of a convincing win!!

Now, you claimed I ducked over the Wright issue, I haven't. I've addressed it. What excuse do you have for Taylor here then?

Stew...why are you wasting your time? Sarah is very likely a paid-up member of the Froch camp...and she's been owned more times here on ESB than a Ford Cortina in Birmingham...

Yes, why waste time proving me wrong when I post facts, links and quotes you cannot possibly refute - that makes absolutely perfect sense.

Having a high post count does not automatically mean you're always right Decebal.

    Sarah -

You originally stated that Taylor hadn't offered Wright a rematch and tried to use it as some sort of evidence that Taylor lacks heart. You were clearly wrong and are now getting way off track by criticizing Taylor for having a close fight with a smaller fighter; completely disregarding that Wright was a top 3 p4p fighter when they met and far more experienced than Taylor.

And before you make fun of Taylor's swollen face, you should actually WATCH THE FIGHT. His left eye swelled so drastically only after a head-butt from Winky late in the fight, clear as day on instant replay.

You are being extremely childish and grasping at straws here to bad-mouth a fighter who is a good representative of the sport only because he happens to be scheduled to fight your favorite fighter. Please grow up.

i find it terribly troublesome and somewhat taxing the complete and utter tedium of trying to find ones "match" on this forum ,as of yet i have been unsuccessfull in my quest but who knows one day my ass will be grass..

until such time i will admit that i find the whole forum thing and its mindboggling tedium quite a challenge for a mind that covers such vast exspanse's(as ones does)im simply not used to limitations..

for the love of god would somebody own me!

    Sarah, please stop the nonsense.

First you said Jermain waited until after Joe retired to call him out, which as I already pointed out, was false. Really, really false.

Now that you've been proven wrong on that front, you seem to be making a big deal out of the fact that he priced himself out, which is also inaccurate. Back in 2007 when the fight was being discussed, Taylor's team came down from their $10 million offer and was willing to accept $6 million to face Joe, which at the time when he was an undefeated champion, was perfectly reasonable.

If you want to criticize someone for pricing himself out, maybe you should take a look at Carl and why he still doesn't have a tv contract... could it be the fact that the thinks he deserves as much as compensation as Calzaghe was getting at the end of his career? :deal

Id say he has more power than Roy Jones. Jones is not really a big puncher imo, although i know he has some spectacular knockouts early in his career.

Speed and accuracy is how Jones knocked people out. I believe Froch has more raw power.

"except he is immensely slower, not near the athlete"

This is part i agree with. Its like that kid Paul McKloskey who trys to imitate Jones. He is immensely slow to.

    Nice post.....:good
I think that alot of Americans are writing the man off simply because they have'nt heard or seen enough of him. I have seen enough of JT though & I think that he has the skills (When he uses them) to cause Froch alot of problems & the capabilities to "box" his way to a points win however I really think that Froch will overpower him & stop him later on.
A very good match up imo....:thumbsup

I favor Calzaghe in that fight but I don't think it would be easy for him. If Hopkins and Roy had the power to drop Joe, Taylor certainly does as well, and Taylor's speed would be as good or better than what Joe saw from either BHOP or Jones, and his workrate probably better than those fighters. IMO Taylor causes Joe some problems, but Joe takes a close decision.

Confidence is good. Going life and death with Jean Pascal and then making silly comments about how easily you would KO Joe Calzaghe is suspect.

But hey, this is why they fight the fights. I look forward to seeing whether this guy can back up his mouth against Taylor.
