Wlad Klitschko vs Prime Larry Holmes - Who Wins?

No it's cool! Lotta' fight fans post these "What if" matchups. Hey, when your sittin in a bar talkin boxing it can be interesting wondering who would have beat who from different time era's. It's too bad no one will really know what the answer is.
Gerry Cooney took prime Holmes into the 13th rnd (was actually ahead on scorecards) when Cooney's corner threw in the towel. If one dimensional Cooney (a one piston left hook) can take Holmes deep, I think Wlad would have been a much tougher fight.

Like I said, I've seen many of Larry's fights & I don't doubt his skills but I think Wladimir would bully him bigtime.

I disagree entirely. The haters here will say Wlad has no heart too but I recall him getting up from every knockdown he's ever suffered. Including those wicked lefts that Sanders landed.

 

larry would have no trouble staying on the outside with wlad

as the fight went on , he would just start time off with his right, he had a very quick well timed 1,2 right (in his prime)

Klitschko has much more power than Holmes, that much isn't debatable. When Larry tastes that power from the outside I'm betting he'd be wanting to fight on the inside instead.

 

I doubt that anyone wont to fight wladimir on long distance. His speed-power-reach-accuracy makes him maybe one of the best outside fighter ever. I can see only very few fighters who can actually afford to play this game with wlad. And the guy should have power to make Wlad respect him. Ali maybe, but there is better strategy for him to win against wlad. MAYBE Lennox but i doubt coz he was not doing so well against slower Bruno.

 

Larry Holmes would slap the **** out of Wladimir Klitschko from bell to bell.

An who did holmes beat with size and power advantage with great jab and not slower than he is?

 

Thats the sticking point, not only has Wlad not faced a fighter of the ability of Holmes but he has lost to fighters who are much worse.

So I don't know why some people are getting so worked up over the suggestion that Holmes would beat Wlad.

wlad can get hit we knows this from previous fights against guys with lesser ability than holmes, that is why i pick holmes to take him out late
