Have never said Byrd was or is my favorite fighter. However, Byrd's fight with Golota was a classic battle. As far as "flatfooted" is concerned. You say tomato I say flatfooted. :yep

Speaking of Chris Byrd, I was going through some of my old fight tapes and saw that I had recorded Byrd vs Tua back in 2002. Man, everyone who is a harsh critic of Chris Byrd really needs to take a look at this fight. I had completely forgotten what a masterful performance it truly was. It was one of the best performances I have seen in quite some time. He truly dominated the bigger puncher and was fearless in doing so.

That fight is definitely worth another look.

not to be a smart ass but I think he was referring to Sonny Banks, much earlier in his career. a fight he actually had quite a bit of trouble with

Of course cooper knocked him down...but banks did it first. And i've seen the fight in full a number of times, would people please quit saying it was 5 minutes. it was maybe 8 seconds if you're liberal. Ali was the best recuperator in history, he didn't need to steal 10 seconds, let alone 5 minutes. Banks actually did MUCH better than cooper but ali was green.

    Now, back to haye...

Haye has a reasonable chance if he can reach Wlad's chin, which he can't. I wouldn't rule anything out in a heavyweight fight of this magnitude, with such heavy hitters.

However, to be honest I see a long fight with Wlad's jab telling the tale. Haye's first round will look like Tyson's first against Lewis...then fading a little each round after as getting to Wlad becomes increasingly difficult.

I wouldn't be surprised if after all the **** talking he takes an easy route out by the late rounds...

Wlad KO 8 or Wlad DQ 8

I have only seen bits and pieces of the Byrd/Tua fight but what I saw was good.

    :hi:

It was a funny coincidence that Wlad started yelling where is David Haye whilst the man himself was about to have an interview on RTL with Vitali :yep:stir:ass
