I know what you mean. A ton of fighters just get criticised no matter what. But Floyd deserves a lot of what he gets. Everyone respects his ability, but a lot of people are angry at the way he ducked all the best welters.

Doesn't that entail getting a fight signed with the lineal title holder (Mayweather). How can you bash those guys for not beating the lineal title holder if the lineal title holder won't give them a fight?

 

I agree. It wasnt a stacked division. But at the time Margarito was the most avoided fighter out there. Everyone was calling for that. Yet Floyd turned down 8 MILLION to face him. Can you even begin to find an excuse for that?

And what about Cotto? At the time he was tearing through the ranks. Floyd could have taken that fight but preffered the likes of P/T market seller Baldomir.

 

Man as far as Margarito he is garbage..MOsley proved how good tony really is..he's nothing special...Floyd faced Carlos WHO WAS THE LINEAL CHAMP AT THE TIME instead for the SAME 8 million....NO EXCUSES NEEDED!

Still doesnt take away from the fact everyone was calling for that fight at the time and Floyd turned down a massive paycheck to face him.

Likewise, many were calling for Floyd Cotto too. I seem to remember Floyd *retiring* rather than facing that unbeaten beast.

Floyd should have fought Paul Williams when Paul called him out, or he could have fought Clottey but he didnt, I think both Paul and Joshua would give Floyd big problems.
