Most entertaining style-or fav. Style

    What is your fav. Style to watch mine is the swarmer or pressure fighter,i think this style of fighting is the most thrilling,the least appealing to me is the back peddlin boxer who runs untill the other fighter is exsauted from chasing him -the slugger is entertaining but the lack of skill at slipping or bobbing or catching a blow takes a little minus to the match unless he,s a ironman of boxing walking thru every blow untill the ko/i like the counter puncher but the waiting for action drives me nuts im prob. Somewhat swarmer apprecative because as an amateur this was my style so lets have it whats your fav. And while were at it what fighter made u like this style such as swarmer-dempsey,gatti,ward,jeffrieszale,basilio,(hatton?) so on

    Ali- had his own style
    Duran- Swarmer and outright killer in the ring
    Hagler-great boxer and stalker
    Whitaker-Defensive genius...pure boxer
    Mayweather-Defensive genius and terrific counterpuncer.
    Sanchez-great boxer and counterpuncher.

    I couldn't give a **** for styles, to be honest, definitely don't have a favourite kind.

    What the **** was Olivares? How about Fitzsimmons?

    I like people that don't get booed for running, and the referee doesn't have to continually break apart.

    I like the Benton signature approved style displayed by Pernell Whitaker, beginning near the end of Whitaker's lightweight career. Benton believed that a fighter should move in a circle, but remain within punching range. The fighter should work behind a good jab, and use angles to set up combinations. Benton also believed his fighter should keep up a decent punch output, and use "dead weight" shots on the covered up fighter's limbs. I was never bored by a Pernell Whitaker fight.

    Julio Cesar Chavez gets referred to a lot as a swarmer, but this is not the case. Chavez has very good footwork. Chavez was normally the stronger, harder hitting, harder chinned opponent; so he did most often work the stalker roll. Stalking is what Chavez did. Chavez used great footwork, and did not smother his punches as "swarmers" generally do.

    Whitaker and Chavez may have seemed a bit different, but they had very similar goals. They wanted to put their hands on you in a most efficient manner. Watch the way these two fighters used every punch in a boxer's arsenal.

    100% my favourites are like these Willie Pep, Pernell Whittaker, Niccolino Locche, etc...

    I loved Peas style why do people think it is boring, excellant skills, always in range, fast hands, throws alot and stands and fights when he needs to.

    i like all style but i prefer defensive mastery to unskilled brawling (although i respect some fighters who fight as brawlers and use superb skills)

    Ultimately, me too for present day and especially old-time fighters, but I'm also a fan of the "purists" like Marciano and bombers like Wilfredo Gomez and guys like Fighting Harada, but I make all kinds of exceptions for exciting fighters as well.
